An outing for a family in New Jersey to see the new Wicked movie turned into a viral moment they'll never forget.
In an Instagram reel, Darell Houseton, 35, caught his daughter's spirited renditions of songs after seeing the adaptation of the blockbuster Broadway musical. He wrote on the text overlay: "I think my 6-year-old enjoyed @wickedmovie."
The dad of two explained that the Broadway show has a special place in his heart. "Of the first musicals my wife and I saw on Broadway when dating was Wicked. We knew we wanted the girls to see the movie the moment we heard about it and saw the trailers—my daughters were very excited," he told Newsweek.

"She was completely taken by Cynthia as Elphaba," Houseton said, adding that the duo is completed with the addition of his 9-year-old Winter who plays Galinda.
"They immediately dove into the soundtrack, and it's been on in our home since," he added.
What Houseton didn't anticipate was the reaction his post would receive—not just from fans, but stars of the movie themselves. "The notifications started to pour in. The girls' silly [videos] do well on socials, but this was different," he told Newsweek.
Among the 5.2 million views were comments from musician Liamani Segura, TV personality Tory Shulman and the Wicked Witch of the West herself, Cynthia Erivo.
"She is incredible!! When is the premiere cuz baby girl is ready for the big screen!!" Segura wrote. In response to Houseton's caption, tagging Erivo that his daughter was now a lifetime fan, the Wicked star commented: "It's the other way around!! Your six-year-old has a lifetime fan in me. This is spectacular."
Zion's love for performing has been growing for years. Having watched Winter in The Music Man, Zion has been inspired to follow in her footsteps. While she also plays soccer with the Ironbound Soccer Club and practices martial arts, the sisters' background in competitive cheer since the age of 3 fueled their confidence on stage.
Originally sending Zion's performance to family and friends, the 35-year-old figured it would be easier to post it online. The reel quickly went viral and the family woke up to over a million views.
"She was so tickled and happy to see so many kind responses. The original Galinda, Broadway stars, musicians and then Cynthia herself! It really encouraged her and she's so proud to express herself and we are happy she's confident enough to do it," Houseton said.
