Daisy May Cooper was held hostage by a psychic who demanded she pay £550 to have a curse removed.
No, this isn’t a madcap storyline from one of her hilariously bonkers shows, this actually happened to the This Country star. While in Los Angeles having meetings about some exciting projects earlier this year, Daisy, 38, visited a medium, who gave her some concerning advice about her partner Anthony Huggins. She then locked her in the house and demanded she pay her a wedge of money. “I found a psychic in Santa Monica,” recalled BBC favourite Daisy May, who often visits mediums and previously told how she tried to have sex with a ghost.

“Ant dropped me off and she said, ‘Is that your partner? You’ll be with him forever… but you shouldn’t be.’ She locked me in her house and said I had a curse and I had to pay her $700 dollars to remove the curse. And I paid it.”
Looking back at the crazy moment in California, mum-of-three Daisy, who has been with boyfriend Ant for two years after meeting on dating app Hinge, continued: “I’ve been had, haven’t I? I’m curse free... but I’m worried about my partner.”
Daisy is so convinced about an afterlife that she’s collated many of her own experiences as well as others in book, Hexy Bitch.
Despite what the psychic said, Daisy and Ant's relationship has been going from strength to strength - with the two believed to be engaged. Daisy let slip the exciting news on her Instagram stories, when she called him her "fiance".
Plugging her BBC hit Am I Being Unreasonable?, Daisy told fans Ant makes a cameo in episode two of the second series. "Keep your eyes peeled for my fit fiance and baby daddy @ant_evo that I managed to crowbar into the playground scene," she wrote.
Daisy and Ant welcomed Benji in June. She has two children from her previous marriage to ex-husband Will Weston.
Daisy is back on telly with the second series of the award-winning Am I Being Unreasonable? on BBC. Speaking about her struggles writing the next set of episodes, she told Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast: “We wrote ourselves into a bloody corner. I had four breakdowns. I do believe this series is better than the first.”

Show creator Daisy, who plays Nic, reunites with brother Charlie Cooper in it. The pair co-created and starred in This Counrtry. Charlie plays Dutch character Jurgeon, who has a mullet, moustache and glasses.
"The funny thing is, we share the same agent, and the same mum, so he can't exactly say f***ing no can he? I had to put him in a mullet and I had to put him in glasses. The funny thing is, actually, he kept dropping the accent. He's not very good at a Dutch accent. We had to kind of write that in later on, that he’s not really f***ing Dutch."
