Dana White insists Conor McGregor will not return to boxing to take on either KSI or Logan Paul while giving an update about his UFC future.

McGregor has been among the UFC fighters to previously make a move into the boxing ring and both the Paul brothers have showcased how much cash can be made from one-off fights, where there is a huge market and he has been tipped to fight Logan Paul in India.

The Irishman has been inactive for nearly four years and held talks with social media star turned boxer KSI about a potential bout. KSI previously fought Logan Paul, earning huge sums, but McGregor still has two fights remaining on his deal with the UFC.

McGregor hasn't fought since breaking his leg in a defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021 but was set to return last year with a fight against Michael Chandler lined up, before an injury curtailed that fight. UFC chief White though is confident he'll be back and ruled out any boxing contests.

White claimed that the Irishman would "eventually" be back before adding: "No no [won't fight KSI or Logan Paul]. I'm hoping that Conor McGregor will return in the fall."

McGregor has once the company's biggest name and enjoyed huge success back when he was a two-weight simultaneous champion in 2016. Shortly after he decided to go after a mega-money boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather, ultimately losing to the American icon.

Since returning to the Octagon he's suffered high profile defeats to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Poirier. His only win over the past eight years came when he beat Donald Cerrone back in 2020.

White has been vocal about dismissing the idea of MMA stars turning their hand to boxing, with those who know the sport often winning with ease. Francis Ngannou was a huge hit in the UFC, but lost to Tyson Fury on points before being knocked out by Anthony Joshua.

White said after Ngannou lost to Joshua: “Yeah, going into the Fury fight, if Fury trained for the fight and didn’t show up and look like he ate Tyson Fury, that’s probably the way that fight would’ve ended too. I mean, listen. You know how I feel about crossovers into boxing, that’s how they end, just like that.”
