Dancing on Ice: Ferne McCann reveals she won't skate in group number
An unexpected injury led to one Dancing On Ice star not returning to the ice in this weekend's final.
Holly Willoughby, 44, and Stephen Mulhern, 47, are back at the helm of the ITV show tonight as the latest series, which launched back in January, comes to a close. One finalist and their skating partner will be crowned the winners at the end of the live episode.
Alongside the finalists performing, it was also teased towards the start of the episode that all the contestants from this year's series would return to the ice for a group performance. It was however revealed that reality TV star Ferne McCann wouldn't be skating with them due to an injury.
The former the Only Way is Essex cast member had been partnered with Brendyn Hatfield on DOI. They however became the second couple to be eliminated from the contest just two weeks after the the new series launched.
Announcing that she wouldn't be part of the group number, Ferne told Holly in the final that she was "devastated". It was revealed that she had sustained an injury recently, with Ferne saying that she had fallen at a children's rollerblading disco.

During the group number, Ferne did appear but was carried over the ice by her skating partner, rather than taking to the ice herself. Other returning contestants for the group number included Charlie Brooks, Mollie Pearce and Chris Taylor. They were joined by Chelsee Healey, Josh Jones, Steve Redgrave and Dan Edgar, who had also been voted out in previous weeks.
The final had already seen football pundit Anton Ferdinand, TV presenter Michaela Strachan and Coronation Street actor Sam Aston compete for the winner's trophy. The trio have performed with their respective skating partners Annette Dytrt, Mark Hanretty and Molly Lanaghan once again, with the winners to be announced at the end of the episode.
