Death in Paradise teases emotional scene
Viewers of Death in Paradise were left reaching for the tissues after an emotional bombshell was dropped during Friday's episode (14 March).
In a plot twist that tugged at heartstrings, DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) sought to uncover the truth behind his late mum Dorna's (Judith Jacob) death, realising she died months before he reached Saint Marie.
His probing led to shocking revelations about Dorna's demise and gave him insight into his own past, particularly the details of his adoption – Dorna had given him up as an infant.
The emotions peaked when Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) shared a moment with Mervin, reading out a touching letter left by Dorna. It was filled with love and longing, revealing her deep regret over giving up her son.

"I think you should hear this. She mentions the ring you told me about. But, she says 'I have not taken it off since I got back here, and I'm never going to. I'm always going to wear it. And, whenever I look at it, I'm always going to think of our little boy.' I don't think she ever forgot you," Selwyn told Mervin.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Mervin fought back tears and excused himself, needing a moment to absorb the heartfelt revelation, reports the Express.
Back home, fans were deeply moved by the scene, flocking to social media to express their stirred emotions.
One fan admitted: "Not me blubbering like a baby," while another shared their own reaction: "Oh #DeathInParadise where the commissioner reading the letters gave me a lump in my throat congratulations there to the writers."

The sentiment was echoed by another viewer who confessed, "I'm actually crying - I feel so bad for him," and yet another touched by the storyline remarked, "Aw, Mervin did have someone who loved him."
The heart-wrenching moment centred around a letter from Dorna to Mervin's father, which ultimately helped Mervin unravel the painful history of why he was given up as a baby.
Death in Paradise airs on Fridays on BBC One at 9pm
