Bridgerton: Ben Miller says he was 'shocked' by 'hanky panky'
Ben Miller, the actor famed for his role as DI Richard Poole in Death in Paradise, has opened up about his return to ITV's Professor T. The 58-year-old star, who has been portraying the enigmatic Professor Jasper Tempest since 2021, has excitedly confirmed his comeback for a fifth series.
While chatting on This Morning with hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond on Friday (March 14), Ben couldn't resist dropping some hints about what fans can expect, revealing that the new series will be 'much lighter' than the previous one.
He shared his enthusiasm, saying: "I'm very excited, I got a new series of Professor T. We ended on a big emotional moment when Lisa, the main detective, lost her life and it was devastating for all the characters in the story."
Ben also gave viewers a sneak peek into the upcoming season, adding: "We are moving into a much lighter story now this series and love is in the air and love is in the air for Professor T, who begins to have a relationship with his therapist. It's never straight forward, but I'm excited."

The new series promises to intrigue audiences with mysteries such as a boxing match with a fatal twist and a series of mysterious deaths at a luxury spa.
Executive Producer Jo McGrath hinted about the upcoming season: "Professor T continues to go from strength to strength. Season 5 will prove to be a momentous one for Professor T, both personally and professionally."

Wrapping up with a bit of humour, Ben quipped, "Here's to another season of baffling crime, dreaming spires, and ironing that tweed."
