In an interview with Variety, Moore opened up about her ongoing support for ex-husband Bruce Willis as he continues his battle with frontotemporal dementia.
Moore, 62, was married to Bruce from 1989 to 2000, and they share three daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31. Despite their divorce, the "The Substance" actress emphasized that their bond remains strong.
“We will always be family—just in a different form,” she told the publication. “For me, there was never a question. I show up because that's what you do for the people you love.”
Bruce, who also has two young daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with his wife Emma Heming, 46, receives regular visits from Moore, who remains a steady presence for both her own children and his extended family.

Moore added that She hopes their close-knit dynamic can serve as an example.
“I hope it's encouraging for others to see that there's a different way to do things. There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love,” she added.

In a December interview with CNN, Moore echoed similar sentiments about her enduring bond with Bruce.
“That has been very important to me even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we're a family, and we'll always be a family just in a different form,” she told Christiane Amanpour. “And that form may kind of evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form.”
The “G.I. Jane” star also provided an update on the Bruce’s condition, noting that he is currently in a stable state.

“Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment,” she shared. “And I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely: It's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at. And from that place, there is such loving and joy,” she added.

Bruce’s family first disclosed his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis in February 2023, following his retirement from acting due to aphasia, a condition that impairs speech and language comprehension.
Since then, the “Die Hard” actor has been surrounded by constant love and support from those closest to him.
Last month, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, spoke candidly about their journey, emphasizing that she has never hidden the reality of his condition from their two young daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.
In an interview with Town & Country Magazine, Heming highlighted the challenges of FTD, saying, “This disease is misdiagnosed, it's missed, it's misunderstood. So finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children.”
She also stressed her commitment to honesty, explaining, “I’ve never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. They've grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I'm not trying to shield them from it.”

During the chat, Moore shared that the performance pushed her beyond her previous limits. “I didn’t have the benefit of feeding off other actors in many of these scenes,” she explained.
Now 62, Moore is acutely aware of how rare this moment is in an industry that often sidelines women past a certain age.
“We’ve all heard the narrative — women of a certain age in Hollywood are discarded, overlooked,” she said. “But look at what’s happening now. There’s interest in our stories. There’s room for us. And that’s exciting,” she added.
The Actress Initially Question Her Future In The Movie Industry
Before “The Substance,” Moore revealed she had begun to question her future in acting.
“I had hit a low point where I didn’t feel like I was expanding like I wasn’t being challenged,” she admitted. “And I thought, maybe the universe is telling me I need to do something else. But then The Substance came along, and I thought, "Okay, this I can dive into. This is something I can bring all of myself to."
If she takes home the Oscar, Moore will join an exclusive group, becoming only the third Best Actress winner to have been directed by a woman who is also nominated for Best Director.
