Demi Moore will always be there for ex-husband Bruce Willis.
Ever since Bruce’s family announced he was battling frontotemporal dementia in February 2023, Demi—who was married to the Die Hard actor from 1987 to 2000—has shared some rare details about his health. In fact, she recently offered another update, noting his diagnosis will never slow down their close dynamic.
“We will always be a family, just in a different form,” the Substance actor said of Bruce, 69, in a Feb. 6 interview with Variety. “For me, there was never a question. I show up because that’s what you do for the people you love.”
According to the 62-year-old, she “visits him weekly” to offer their daughters—Rumer, 36, Scout, 33 and Tallulah, 31—and Willis’ new wife, Emma Heming Wilis, a source of support. (Bruce also shares two daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with Emma.)

Bruce Willis' Best Roles
Demi has always been on a united front with her blended family, saying, “I hope it’s encouraging for others to see that there’s a different way to do things. There’s life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love.”
The Oscar nominee’s supportive words echoed her comments from December, when she revealed that she didn’t want their divorce to end their family’s relationship.
“That has been very important to me even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced—the recognition that we're a family,” the Charlie’s Angels actor told CNN at the time. “And that form may kind of evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form.”

She also noted that while Bruce’s condition was stable, it was still emotionally challenging to see a loved one decline over the years. Bruce was first diagnosed with aphasia—a disease that leads to difficulties with speaking and writing—in March 2022, and retired from acting soon after. His condition progressed to dementia that following year.
Despite Bruce’s health diagnosis, his family continues to show up for him. The Fifth Element actor recently celebrated Tallulah’s birthday, and Demi shared a sweet photo of them embracing their daughter on her big day. “My baby is 31 today!” Demi wrote in a Feb. 3 Instagram post. “Happy Birthday my sweet magical angel! Love you to the moon.”
