Divorce have released an empowering new single called âHangmanâ. Check it out below.
Shared today (February 6), the track marks the final offering from the bandâs forthcoming debut album âDrive To Goldenhammerâ.
Set for release on March 7 via Gravity/Capitol, the record has already been previewed by radiant lead single âAll My Freaksâ, breezy track âAntarcticaâ and liberating anthem âPillâ. You can pre-order and pre-save the album here.
For âHangmanâ, Felix Mackenzie-Barrow and co. use the track to pay their tribute to the tireless efforts of social care workers, and share their gratitude for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

According to the singer, the song came together after his own time working as a support worker â an experience that made him realise the efforts that go into the career.
RecommendedâI wrote Hangman late one night, freezing in my mouldy bedroom after a long shift as a support worker; the job I was doing at the time,â he said. âThe job I was doing necessitated a high level of emotional control, which was not something I had experienced before and so writing about the work and allowing my subconscious to flow freely helped me to gain some perspective.â
He continued: âI listened to it on the way back to work the following morning over and over and I felt like Iâd done a good one. I only worked in that job for about six months, but it was simultaneously the hardest and most rewarding work Iâve ever done.
âThe admiration I have for the people I worked with and the people who choose that career is immense. The world of social care is hidden in a society that likes to pretend it doesnât exist, but it is vital and deserves much more focus and investment than it currently receives.â
