Elon Musk called Sean "Diddy" Combs a "good friend" after he invested in X, formerly Twitter, according to a book written by New York Times journalists.
Newsweek reached out to a representative for Combs and Tesla's media department for comment.
Why It MattersOn October 1, 2024, Musk re-shared a post containing a screenshot of an article about accusations Combs was facing from 120 people.
"How many people in music & entertainment knew about this?" Musk said in his repost.

The rapper and record mogul is accused of hosting "Freak Off" parties in which guests were coerced into performing sexual acts, according to court documents. He also faces over 30 lawsuits from plaintiffs accusing him of sex crimes.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges and denies any wrongdoing.
What To KnowAccording to a 2024 book titled Character Limit: How Elon Musk Destroyed Twitter, by New York Times journalists Kate Conger and Ryan Mac, Musk told Detavio Samuels, CEO of Combs' media company Revolt, that the music star was an investor in Twitter during a meeting.
"He's a good friend of mine. We text a lot," Musk told Samuels, according to the book.
The meeting reportedly occurred after Musk bought Twitter in October 2022.
The X Corp. was required to disclose a list of shareholders for its parent company in August 2024 during proceedings for a lawsuit filed by former employees. The list contains nearly 100 groups with a stake in the company, including Sean Combs Capital, LLC.
After Musk commented on the accusations against Combs, Mac posted, "maybe you could have asked him when he invested in your Twitter deal."
Singer Aubrey O'Day also responded to Musk's post, appearing to suggest a connection between Combs and Musk's acquaintances. O'Day was previously signed to Combs' Bad Boy Record Label.
Musk was seated next to Combs at a Dave Chappelle show at the Hollywood Bowl in 2022, according to the Daily Mail.
