Drake has put a dampener on claims by DJ Khaled that they have collaborated on new material.

The rumours about the two joining forces arose earlier this week when Khaled announced his upcoming 14th studio album ‘Aalam Of God’. Sharing news of the LP, the musician dropped a cinematic trailer that saw guest appearances from Anthony Ramos and Mark Wahlberg.

In the clip, Wahlberg claimed that the tracklist will contain “two new Drake songs” – leading to fans starting to get excited about the forthcoming collaboration.

However, soon after the video went live on Khaled’s Instagram, the Canadian rapper took to the comment section to swiftly shut down rumours that he had any hand in the project. “Must be @drakebell,” he wrote, making a nod to the American actor and musician who found fame on Drake & Josh.

Soon after the comment was uploaded, Khaled deleted the post from his social media.

At time of writing, it isn’t clear why the promotional clip saw Wahlberg suggest that Drake featured on the upcoming album, and Drake has yet to provide any further comments about any involvement on the record.

Elsewhere in the video, Khaled also hinted to collaborations from Rihanna and Jay-Z, although neither artist has confirmed this.

Drake and Khaled have worked together before, with the Canadian star having guest appearances on seven out of 13 DJ Khaled albums (via Complex). Two recent contributions include songs ‘Khaled Khaled’ and ‘God Did’.

The dismissal of another partnership comes just days after it was announced that the ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper would be joining forces with another artist for a new album. On Monday (February 3) it was reported that he and PartyNextDoor were set to release an LP titled ‘$exy $ongs 4 U’ next week.

The announcement came following Drake referred to the collab during his performance in Toronto last summer. “On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all,” he told fans at the event.

The record will be Drake’s first since 2023’s ‘For All The Dogs‘, which was given a three-star review by NME. “In the hours shortly before the album dropped, Drake announced that he would take a break from music to focus on his health… Hopefully he returns revitalised and renewed, because ‘For All The Dogs’- his third solo LP in as many years –  not only feels tiring, but sounds tired too.”

In other news, Drake’s father Dennis Graham recently commented on Kendrick Lamar‘s 2025 Grammy wins for ‘Not Like Us’ – the diss track aimed at his son.

As for DJ Khaled, it seems that Drake isn’t the only artist he is looking to work with. Recently it was reported that he had worked with K-pop boyband SEVENTEEN for their new mini-album, ‘Spill The Feels’.
