From her wedding in 1999 to her modern-day role as the Duchess of Edinburgh, SophieâÂÂs journey has been one of quiet dedication, warmth and growing influence.
From marrying Prince Edward to welcoming their two children and stepping down from her PR firm after a royal scandal, the royal has had quite the journey. She has also formed close bonds with several members of the Monarchy, including with Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla.
As Sophie turns 60 years old today, she will no doubt be reminiscing on a busy six decades. Here, OK! takes a look at the Duchess Of Edinburgh's royal life in pictures...
1999Sophie owned her own PR agency before marrying Prince Edward, and is pictured her arriving to work the day after her engagement to the royal was announced.

That same year, Sophie was subject to a tabloid sting and misled by a reporter posing as an Arab sheikh. Shewas set up by the News of the World at the Dorchester hotel, where she had gone to secure a PR contract with a Saudi prince - but was forced to resign from her PR firm after the incident.

Sophie was forced to spend 16 days in hospital away from Louise as she recovered from the traumatic birth.
