Durham Cathedral mason's carved King Charles Cipher on display in village hall

The king’s official cipher, hand-crafted in a sandstone tablet by a Durham Cathedral mason, has taken pride of place in a County Durham hall.
It has gone on display alongside an official letter of commendation from King Charles’ mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, awarded as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations, in 2002.Her Majesty’s personally signed letter to Waterhouses Community Association acknowledged the value of the independently run centre’s self-funded work.The association, based at the village hall, caters for people of all ages through its self-funded, “social, educational and recreational activities.”(Image:...
