Eamonn Holmes has thrown his support behind long-time friend Daley Thompson in this season of Celebrity Big Brother, suggesting the Olympic legend might have more to him than meets the eye. The 65-year-old presenter posted a snap of the pair at a Not Just Travel event - an occasion both Eamonn and Daley attended as brand ambassadors.
Alongside the photo, Eamonn gushed about his pal, describing him as a powerhouse both on and off the screen. “Daley Thompson, superman, super athlete, super friend,” he wrote.
Article continues below“He’ll be the Quiet Man of Celebrity Big Brother - until he’s not." While Eamonn may see Daley as a calm contender, it didn’t take long for the decathlon champ to get caught up in the show’s first confrontation - a tense moment with Drag Race UK star Danny Beard, 32.
The clash unfolded after a sharp exchange in the living room led Danny to question the vibe between them. Chatting in the storeroom with fellow housemate Donna Preston, 38, Danny tried to unpack what had happened. Recalling the interaction, they explained that they had assumed another housemate, Mickey, was singling them out for something - only to be met with Daley’s snappy response: “Not everything is about you.”
Trying to make sense of it, Danny told Donna: “I’m overthinking it. I’m gonna totally make an effort with him tomorrow, that’s it.” However, later in the diary room, the moment still lingered in Danny’s mind. Opening up to Big Brother, they admitted: “I think I’ve tried to make an effort with everybody.
"But I heard Daley make a comment like, ‘Well not everything revolves around you,’ and, I don’t know if I’m overthinking it. I can sense or I feel like he’s a bit wary of me and that’s fine cause maybe I’m also a little bit wary of him.”
And fans noticed the continued tension despite Danny trying to brush it off. One said: "I’m so glad Danny has Daley clocked so early on #CBBUK." Another added: "Danny definitely isn’t overreacting with Daley #CBBUK." Someone else commented: "A row between danny and daley is coming i fear #CBBUK." A fourth wrote: "I sense there may be some beef between danny and daley #CBBUK."
Viewers also shared their concern for one housemate as they appeared to go "missing" as not all housemates have been seen. During Tuesday night's episode, viewers expressed their fear for one housemate as they barely got any airtime and prompted some to think they had gone missing.
Fans took to X to share their concern for comedian and actress Donna Preston. One said: "where’s queen donna??? #cbbuk." Another added: "okay but where is my girl donna #CBBUK." Someone else commented: "give angellica and donna screen time NOW #CBBUK," in reference to Angellica Bell too. A fourth wrote: "Gimme more Donna and Angelica!! #CBBUK."
