Eamonn Holmes has admitted he believes lying to a partner can sometimes be acceptable.
The GB News host, 65, shared his views during a debate on his morning show, discussing how dating apps report that a third of users exaggerate details to appear more interesting to potential or current partners.
When a dating coach argued that lying breaks trust in a relationship, the Northern Irish presenter disagreed, drawing on his own experience.
“’Does my bum look big in this? No, of course, it doesn't.’ So does that make me a bad person then, Jo?” he asked.
He went on to say: “Let's face it, we're all quite boring. You ask a person to tell you about their life, and they expect some sort of revelation, but it's just not the case.
“I imagine, Jo, that I embellish. I'm an embellisher.

“If you're looking to find the most attractive person on that dating app, you're not going to say, ‘I sat on the couch, watched TV, and ate pizza,’ are you?”
Meanwhile, Holmes ex-wife, Ruth Langsford, showed she was embracing single life with a fun night out over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Loose Women panellist joined her close friend Lizzie Cundy for a glamorous evening in London, dining at Scott’s Mayfair alongside hospitality consultant Liz Taylor.
Sharing the night on Instagram, she posted a story captioned: "GIRLS NIGHT," featuring an animation of clinking wine glasses. She later added, "Girls night! Party like it's your birthday. Laughter is the best medicine."
Her upbeat evening follows her candid discussion about her "difficult" breakup from Holmes after 14 years of marriage and how she has been focusing on moving forward.
Since their split, he has gone public with his new relationship with dating counsellor Katie Alexander, 43, while Langsford remains single.
Speaking about the divorce, she expressed optimism about the future to Woman & Home magazine: “Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on. You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”
Adding: “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.
“Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job.
