Eamonn Holmes makes awkward Ruth marriage confession on GB News
Eamonn Holmes shared dos and don'ts for relationships and had some controversial opinions.
GB News star Eamonn Holmes, 65, has sparked controversy with his views on dating after it aired on the breakfast show.
While discussing relationship dos and don'ts with a dating coach, Eamonn challenged the expert's assertion that lying can shatter trust between partners. Instead, he argued that lying could be crucial to sustaining a joyful relationship.
He cited white lies as an example, questioning: "'Does my bum look big in this? No, of course it doesn't.' So does that make me a bad person then?"
The conversation then turned to dishonesty on dating apps, where Eamonn suggested that embellishing the truth was a necessary strategy to appear more intriguing or attractive to potential matches.
"Let's face it, we're all quite boring. We are all quite boring. You ask a person to tell you about your life and they expect you to give some sort of revelation that you do things people don't usually do and it's just not the case," he confessed, adding: "I embellish, I'm an embellished," reports the Mirror.
Eamonn reinforced his point: "If you're looking to find the most attractive person on that dating app you're not going to say I sat on the couch, watched TV and ate pizza, are you?"
These comments from the former ITV star follow his surprising split announcement in May 2024, after a 14-year marriage to his This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford, 64.
In a turn of events, Eamonn swiftly found love again with new partner, Katie Alexander, 42. The duo's romance escalated rapidly, as they've been seen indulging in several getaways together.
Merely months following his separation from Ruth, Eamonn and Katie embarked on an extravagant Mediterranean cruise in September.Â
Their travels didn't stop there; they soon jetted to Paris during the winter, taking in the sights at the Louvre, shortly after attending a glitzy carol concert in London.
A source close to Eamonn reveals he's seriously considering proposing to Katie.
They claimed: "Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. They're already living together and he knows it feels right. They have a very strong connection and get on very well," the insider divulged.
The same source noted that Katie has rejuvenated Eamonn with a "real lust for life" and has been caring for him amidst his recent health challenges. Eamonn, who now uses a wheelchair, has shared his concerns about potentially not walking independently again.
He delayed hip replacement surgery for 30 years until 2016, and his post-operative "grumpy" demeanour is said to have contributed to his breakup with Ruth.
