BBC's beloved soap EastEnders has kept us glued to our screens for an impressive 40 years, delivering a mix of sizzling drama, surprising romances, and age-old rivalries.
Yet, it's not just the on-screen action that has fans talking – buzz around real-life tensions among cast members is drawing as much attention.
Behind the glittering facade of TV drama lie tales of off-screen disputes and clandestine liaisons coming to light, painting a picture of anything but serene set life.
Ok! has dived into some of the hottest off-air gossip that has been grabbing headlines as alleged disputes take place off air.

Danielle Harold and Jamie Borthwick are at the heart of rumours about an undercover rift ripping through the EastEnders crew.
Following the unceremonious social media 'unfollowing' by Jamie Borthwick of his once co-star Danielle Harold, whispers of discord have intensified.
Danielle said farewell to her role as Lola Pearce, Jamie's TV wife, after her character died from a brain tumour in 2023.
Despite their on-screen connection leading to a friendship visible through joint public appearances, a reported romance between Danielle and castmate Max Bowden seems to have triggered the rift, clearly felt when both Danielle and Jamie removed each other from their Instagram accounts recently, reports Plymouth Live.
An insider spilled the beans to Daily Mail, suggesting: "Danielle and Max dated for a number of years. Of course, it was known among the EastEnders cast and everyone thought they were sweet together.
"Their relationship hasn't ended on the best terms, and they have even unfollowed each other on Instagram. There are a lot of emotions after they were friends, colleagues, and romantically involved for such a long time."
The plot thickened when Max was spotted dating another co-star, Shona McGarty, adding fuel to the fire.
Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden

Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden's feud made headlines back in 2017 when The Sun reported that tensions had escalated between the two EastEnders stars. The alleged animosity between Danny, who plays Mick Carter, and Steve's character Phil Mitchell, led to a backstage rift that divided the cast.
The Sun also claimed that Danny had issues with Ross Kemp, who plays Phil's brother Grant, with sources from the BBC soap alleging that Danny once confessed to friends he'd considered throwing a punch at Steve on set. An insider spilled that there was a "huge amount of tension" between Danny's Mick Carter and Steve's Phil Mitchell.
Steve McFadden and Michael Greco

Steve McFadden and Michael Greco's off-screen drama is another intriguing chapter. Michael Greco, 54, known for his role as Beppe di Marco on EastEnders from 1998 to 2002, has shed light on a real-life incident involving Steve McFadden.
Greco was part of the Di Marco family, introduced as rivals to the infamous Mitchell clan, with his character Beppe joined by his brother Gianni, played by Marc Bannerman.
Michael has shared details more than two decades on, revealing that the fictional feud between the Di Marcos and the Mitchells wasn't entirely for the cameras.
Chatting to Suffolk Sound Radio, he said: "When I was doing a scene with my on-screen brother Gianni played by Marc Bannerman, we were filming with the Mitchell brothers, and Gianni improvised and spat on the floor, and Steve went mental, effing and jeffing, I thought he was going to hit Marc, he went crazy."
He added: "I was looking at my script thinking, I don't think that was in the script and the director had to come over and tell Steve to calm down."
Cheryl Fergison
Cheryl Fergison played Heather Trott in the soap
Cheryl Fergison, who played Heather Trott, admitted she felt a bit left out after not being included in the soap's big 40th birthday bash. Reaching out through an emotional Instagram video, Cheryl laid bare her financial woes and eagerness to make a comeback to acting. She passionately conveyed her love for the craft and hopes for new roles.
In a candid interview, Cheryl, whose character was killed off, hinted at how cast members often get the vibe their character is getting the boot. Those hush-hush chats with the producers or rather the lack of them, seem to be quite telling.
Reflecting on her own experience, she noticed that not being booked for producer meetings meant it was curtains for her character.
