EastEnders fans are speculating that Peggy Mitchell, the soap legend, had a secret offspring and they believe they know exactly who it is.
The iconic character of Peggy, portrayed by Jo Warne and later Barbara Windsor, first graced our screens in 1991 as the mother of Phil (Steve McFadden), Grant (Ross Kemp), and Sam (Danniella Westbrook and Kim Medcalf).
Known for her distinctive blonde curls and no-nonsense demeanour, Peggy quickly became one of the most cherished and recognisable characters on the show. She was at the heart of numerous major storylines, from managing the renowned Queen Vic pub and battling breast cancer to navigating failed marriages and Mitchell family disputes.
However, in 2016, after nearly three decades on the show, Barbara announced her departure. In poignant scenes, Peggy, facing a recurrence of her cancer, took her own life.

They have taken to online platforms to share their theory that Peggy had a secret daughter currently residing in Walford: Nicola Mitchell.
Nicola, played by Laura Doddington, made her entrance earlier this year as the estranged wife of Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) and has already stirred up some drama. This week, she discovered that Teddy's new love interest, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), recently had a fling with Grant, which has put her on high alert, reports Plymouth Live.
In a recent twist, it was revealed that the biological father of Nicola's son Barney (portrayed by Lewis Bridgeman) isn't Teddy as previously thought, but actually Zack (played by James Farrar), stemming from their past romantic encounter.
The tension heightened in Thursday's episode (March 6), with Zack delivering an ultimatum to Nicola: either she tells Barney the truth or he will take matters into his own hands.

Fans have taken to an EastEnders Facebook fan page to express their theories, with one commenting: "I would so love if it turned out Nicola was Peggy's long-lost daughter!" Agreeing with the sentiment, another fan remarked: "I've said this as soon as she first appeared."
A third added fuel to the speculative fire saying: "They are very similar and it would definitely be a big twist!" Meanwhile, another brought up a potential incestuous angle, "Wouldn't that mean Teddy and Nicola are related then? It's turning into Emmerdale!".
