Ederson call, Grealish return, Bobb back - Man City predicted XI vs Bournemouth
Pep Guardiola must weigh up going as strong as possible vs Bournemouth to book an FA Cup semi-final spot, or reward some of the players who got them to the quarter-finals.
Pep Guardiola's defence of Jack Grealish wasn't watertight on Friday.
Guardiola just reiterated that he wants the best for Manchester City's record signing as he continues to struggle for regular games. Savinho and Jeremy Doku have been preferred on the wings recently in the Premier League, with Grealish's only starts since Christmas coming in the FA Cup and once in the Champions League.

Grealish has an advantage over Doku and Savinho for the FA Cup quarter-final vs Bournemouth in that he was not on international duty, so could be preferred on the left on the South Coast. It could be his final chance this season to make an impression, particularly if City were to crash out.
Doku may get the nod on the other side having travelled less than Savinho last week, even if he is better on the left. If Guardiola wants an alternative, Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva can operate on the right.
Erling Haaland can start in an attempt to book a seventh-straight semi-final place, while Marmoush can carry on where he left off against Brighton behind him (while offering a rotation option on the right or left in-game).
‌
That would mean James McAtee is on the bench after starting all FA Cup games so far. But City can't afford to lose at Bournemouth and Marmoush is the more in-form no.10. McAtee could instead feature against Leicester this week in the less-risky fixture coming up.
Behind Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez and Bernardo Silva are probably the best midfield pairing to feed the wingers, especially when Gonzalez is allowed freedom to move forward. Bernardo would be tasked with more attacking input out of the pair, while covering for Gonzalez if he joined the attack.
And in defence, the temptation could be to keep Nico O'Reilly at left-back but Bournemouth's wingers are versatile and in-form. Josko Gvardiol, if fit, should start with Ruben Dias and Abdukodir Khusanov to his right. Matheus Nunes could get the start over Rico Lewis at right-back given the strength of Bournemouth's wide men.
‌
Ederson is fit, Guardiola says, but Stefan Ortega is the cup goalkeeper and will likely start to give Ederson more time to recover ahead of Leicester and Manchester United.
On the bench should be room for Oscar Bobb ahead of a potential first appearance of the season. That can allow someone more senior to get a rest, with the potential for Bobb to get minutes in the second half if possible. However, Claudio Echeverri may be overlooked given expected places for McAtee, O'Reilly and Vitor Reis.
Man City predicted XI vs Bournemouth: Ortega, Nunes, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Bernardo, Marmoush, Grealish, Doku, Haaland.
