Ellen Pompeo Says the Push-up Bra Is So Back
It's giving bombshell.
We see you, Ellen Pompeo.
The actor stepped out on March 18 in a sheer black polka-dot bodysuit which exposed the black push-up bra she wore underneath. The 55-year-old paired the see-through top with a silk knee-length skirt, satin pointed-toe heels, and a plum colored coat which complemented her berry-stained lips.

Given the demure, ladylike silhouette of her look, plus Pompeo's classic accessories, like her sheer black nylon stockings and black leather clutch, the pop of sex appeal feels just a tad subversive—a wink and a nod to fans. Yes, she's been our TV crush for decades, and yes, she still is.
At the risk of reading too much into her looks, I couldn't help but notice that purple seems to be Pompeo's color of choice recently. The actor wore a lavender suit earlier this week, and later the same day she wore a monochromatic lilac look which she paired with a sage trench coat for a touch of green (it was St. Patrick's Day, after all). In pop culture, purple is often associated with wealth and royalty—so it's a fitting color for the famously well-compensated TV queen.

Pompeo is currently hitting the press circuit to promote Good American Family, a new limited series based on the true story of Natalia Grace Mans. (The show is not to be confused with Candace Cameron Bure's Great American Family network, which promotes “faith, family, and country," or Good American, Khloé Kardashian's denim brand.)
In Good American Family, Pompeo stars as Kristine Barnett, a woman who, along with her husband Michael (Mark Duplass) adopts an 8-year-old Ukranian girl with a rare form of dwarfism. Over time, the Barnetts begin to question whether Natalia Grace (Imogen Faith Reid) is the age she says she is—believing her not to be a little girl, but a grown woman who is conning the Barnetts. This is Pompeo's first major TV role since stepping back from Grey's Anatomy, which is currently in its 21st season, and will celebrate 20 years on the air later this month.
As much as we love Meredith Grey, if more TV projects means more street style from Ellen Pompeo, we're all for it.
