Billionaire Elon Musk went off on a bizarre rant where he accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of "feeding off dead Ukrainian bodies."
Mr Musk, a key figure in the Donald Trump administration, laid into the Ukrainian President in a post shared to his social media platform X/Twitter. He also claimed the platform's community notes feature - which aims to fact check posts - of "increasingly being gamed by governments and legacy media" after a poll indicated Mr Zelensky has an approval rating of 57 per cent, far higher than the four per cent claimed by Mr Trump.
He made the claim in a repost of a right-wing X/Twitter account that aimed to cast doubt on the validity of the poll, accusing it of being biased due to having received funds from the US Agency for International Development. He did not provide evidence to support his claim that Zelensky was actually incredibly unpopular.

The billionaire said: "If Zelensky was actually loved by the people of Ukraine, he would hold an election. He knows he would lose in a landslide, despite having seized control of all Ukrainian media, so he cancelled the election. In reality, he is despised by the people of Ukraine, which is why he has refused to hold an election.
"I challenge Zelensky to hold an election and refute this. He will not. President Trump is right to ignore him and solve for peace independent of the disgusting, massive graft machine feeding off the dead bodies of Ukrainian soldiers."
The Ukrainian constitution does not allow for elections during war time and Mr Zelensky has not indicated he would not hold elections. Mr Musk has not shared demands for Vladimir Putin to hold free and fair elections amid claims he manipulates results and controls the opposition to suit his regime.

Mr Musk's comments about the Ukrainian President reflect a growing trend among Republican supporters to become increasingly frustrated with American taxpayer money being sent to support the country following Russia's invasion in 2022. According to a Pew Research poll earlier this month, about 47 per cent of Republicans believe the US provided too much support to Ukraine, compared to 14 per cent of Democrats who said the same.
Mr Trump has made few demands of Russia ahead of peace talks with the country's officials. He also appeared willing for Russia to take occupied territory in eastern Ukraine without offering a security guarantee for the country after a deal is reached.
Mr Zelensky previously said Mr Trump was living in a "disinformation space." Critics of the US President's stance toward Russia have accused him of repeating lines about the war from the Kremlin.
