Emmerdale fans 'in tears' after Amy is third death after identifying Nate's body
Amy Barton was the third villager to die after the limo crash as she revealed Nate's identity in the lake
Emmerdale fans were left on edge on Thursday's (20th February) episode as Amy Barton revealed the name of the body in the lake before she became the third confirmed death this week.
On Wednesday's episode (February 19), chaos erupted at the hospital as the four emergency vehicles screeched into A&E, where young medic Jacob was on shift. His world was shattered when he realised the devastating crash had involved the limousine that his mother Leyla was passenger in.
â
He shared his final goodbye to Leyla as he broke down in tears, bidding farewell to the character that spent 17 years in the Dales before her exit was sealed. It was revealed that Leyla died from "severe blood loss" after she was impaled with a piece of ice during the crash.
As two deaths were confirmed, Liam and Amy spent the episode fighting for their lives. The episode reached a nail biting climax as Amy's life hung by a thread, with the haunting sound of her heart monitor flatlining echoing through the ward.
Fans were in shock as Amy was plunged into the ice cold water as she tried to get to safety. Desperately trying to swim back to safety, Amy struggled to find the entrance and kept pounding on the rock solid ice above her head.
â
As Amy is trying to claw her way back out she turns and sees a body floating in the water, for viewers all that's visible is a man's hand wearing a bracelet. Fans have since theorised that this body could be Nate Robinson who abruptly left the ITV soap in 2024 and hasn't been heard from since.
Although Tracy rescued her from the water, it was confirmed during Thursday's episode that she didn't make it. However, before she suffered a cardiac arrest gasped for breath and said to Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), "Matty, Nate is in the water."
â
She repeated it one more time, but Matty was unaware of her urgent message and just tried to console her. Amy's heart failed and she died despite the efforts to save her.
