Emmerdale's Amy Wyatt star issues telling statement over body in the lake
Emmerdale fans were left devastated on Thursday as Amy Wyatt died following the devastating limo crash, but the body in the lake still remains...
Emmerdale viewers were reaching for the tissues after Thursday's heart-wrenching episode saw Amy Wyatt's life tragically end following the catastrophic limo accident. Having plunged through the frozen lake, a hypothermia-stricken Amy, played by Natalie Ann Jamieson, was whisked off to hospital.
In her last moments, she miraculously woke up and mustered the strength to tell her husband Matty Barton about the eerie sight she witnessed in the lake's depths. As she tried to convey, "Nate, under the water," a bewildered Matty replied, "I know you were darling, but you're safe now." Despite the medical team's frantic efforts, they couldn't save her, and Amy passed away with the chilling secret of the body under the ice.

The morning after the devastating scenes, Natalie appeared on Lorraine, where she discussed her character's poignant departure and, naturally, the mystery of the lake. Chatting with Christine Lampard, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly, Natalie divulged details about the long-teased reveal of Amy's hand trapped beneath the ice.
She couldn't help but chuckle as she recounted how everyone had been speculating, with many mistaking it for a man's hand. Christine then dropped the bombshell that Amy would be taking this dreadful secret to her grave, adding, "We don't know who it belongs to at this point," reports the Mirror.

Natalie's response to probing questions about the storyline was tinged with uncertainty: "Erm, I think last night, Amy tried to tell Matty, but nobody in the village knows who it belongs to because, as Amy was trying to tell Matty, it was kind of final words, and she used them up to say, I love you."
This hesitation has sparked chatter amongst viewers, who are questioning if the secret will eventually come out. Speculation is rife that Matty may recall Amy's confession.
Fans have taken to Twitter, formerly referred to as X, to express their hunches. "Hopefully Matty remembers what Amy was saying to him," one said while another hoped, "I hope Matty remembers she was saying Nate and will wonder why.."
Reflecting on her exit from the series after playing Amy since 2019, Natalie couldn't help being sentimental about leaving such a tight-knit team: "It's such a special place to work. Although I'll see the cast all the time outside of work, not getting to work with them in that way anymore is so sad."
She also shared how emotionally daunting it was shooting her final scenes: "When we were doing those final scenes when Kerry and Matty were saying goodbye to Amy, I was just an emotional wreck!"
