Emmerdale star shares surprising connection between new show and Big Brother
Adam and Ryan Thomas are presenting a brand new gameshow on ITV, and the brothers have now shared an astonishing connection between the programme and Big Brother
Soap legends Adam and Ryan Thomas have unveiled a surprising twist about their fresh gaming show 99 to Beat.
The brothers, popular for their roles on Emmerdale and Coronation Street respectively, have taken a leap into the world of presenting, helming the ITV game show. While chatting on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, the duo shared their show's premise where challengers try to avoid finishing last among 100 participants in various demanding games.
But there's more than meets the eye with this programme, as the siblings let slip an intriguing detail.
In conversation with hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, Adam revealed: "Well apparently, I don't know if you know this but these are the contestants that never got onto Big Brother."

The revelation left Simon and Tim surprised, prompting Adam to add, "So these are the guys that didn't get onto Big Brother and obviously we wanted to have some great contestants for the show," reports Leeds Live.
Adam then spilt the beans: "So what a better place to look than the Big Brother catalogue."
During their stint on Sunday Brunch, the Thomas brothers also confessed the "hardest part" of hosting 99 to Beat was doing it without their sibling Scott, known from his stint on Love Island.
The presenters were surprised by the revelation
During the gameshow's launch, Adam and Ryan couldn't contain their enthusiasm about its unique format.
Adam described their latest venture: "It's a family-friendly, ridiculously stupid, funny, competitive game that anyone can play. That's what we love about it the most – it's not something that you've got to be super-fit or intelligent to do. It's just like: 'Get a slinky, put it on your head and see how quickly you can get it to stay there.'".
He went on to capture the essence of the show, saying: "This show's definitely me and Ryan in a nutshell because it's daft, funny and we don't take ourselves too seriously."

Adam spoke about their hunt for contestants: "In 99 To Beat, we're on the lookout for a winner, but genuinely we feel like competition winners ourselves.
"Being able to have a show like this on ITV – a channel that we were basically born on – is a very special moment for us. Between me and Ryan, we've done every show that is out there [Celebrity Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing On Ice and I'm A Celebrity], so to be on the other side, hosting the show, is definitely a dream come true."
99 to Beat airs Saturdays at 6pm on ITV1.
