Kim Tae Ri And Shin Ye Eun Battle Over One Role In “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” Finale
Kim Tae Ri and Shin Ye Eun will wage a fierce battle for the same part in the finale of tvN’s “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born”!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” is a drama set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War. Kim Tae Ri stars as the titular Jeong Nyeon, a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor.

On the previous episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born,” Jeong Nyeon returned to the Maeran troupe after refusing to give up on her dream. In the wake of the departures of prima donnas Moon Ok Gyung (Jung Eun Chae) and Seo Hye Rang (Kim Yoon Hye), Jeong Nyeon and her rival Heo Yeong Seo (Shin Ye Eun) began to compete for the spot of the troupe’s new top star.
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming final episode, Jeong Nyeon and Yeong Seo audition for the leading role in the troupe’s next production. Under the keen eye of troupe leader Kang So Bok (Ra Mi Ran), the two rising stars offer very different interpretations of the same role. Yeong Seo fully throws herself into the part with a blazing passion, and the mad glint in her eye during her audition reveals just how immersed she is in the character.
Meanwhile, Jeong Nyeon displays a far more restrained and understated take on the same role. Jeong Nyeon doesn’t move much, and she exudes a quiet charisma as she acts out the part with an intense gaze.
The drama’s production team remarked, “Today marks the final act of ‘Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born.’ In the final episode, the Maeran traditional theater troupe’s final performance—which many viewers have been waiting for—will take place.”
They continued, “Please look forward to the sensational final performance, for which Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, and the entire cast and crew gave their all.”
The final episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” will air on November 17 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
