Everything we know about Reacher Season 4
Everything we know about Reacher Season 4, including when it might air, and which book author Lee Child would like to adapt.
Season 3 of Reacher has now come to a bloody close, meaning it’s time to look ahead at the upcoming Season 4.
Reacher has been a huge hit for Prime Video, which is why the streamer announced Season 4 of the series before Season 3 even aired.
Each of the first three seasons have been based on books by Lee Child, beginning with an adaptation of ‘Killing Floor’ and continuing with ‘Bad Luck and Trouble,’ before the most recent episodes adapted ‘Persuader.’
That series has just concluded on Amazon, so here’s everything we know about what’s coming next.
Reacher Season 4 will shoot this summerPrime Video
On October 9, 2024, Amazon announced that Reacher was being renewed for a fourth season. That’s no surprise, as Season 2 was the Prime Video’s most viewed 2023 release.
When making the announcement, Amazon’s head of television Vernon Sanders said: “Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season. We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”
More recently, author Lee Child revealed when the new episodes will film, telling TechRadar in February 2025 that Season 4 is “written and it’s ready to go. It’s going to start shooting in the summer.”
With that information in mind, Reacher Season 4 probably won’t drop in 2025, so will likely be a 2026 release for Prime Video.

While speaking to The Independent on February 20, 2025, Child said that ‘The Midnight Line’ is one of his favorites: “Because it was an opioid book, but it was written from the point of view of the addict with tremendous sympathy… I’m addicted to numerous things myself and so I wanted to show it from the addicts point of view – make it sympathetic, make it human – and I’m proud of that book.”
As for adaptation, Child adds: “I wonder if it will ever get made. We have to see whether we ever choose that one, but I’d love to see how it comes out.”
Don’t expect to see a TV version of ‘One Shot’ or ‘Never Go Back’ anytime soon, however, as because of the Tom Cruise adaptations of those novels, they aren’t a priority.
“I would revisit them absolutely, but I think not as a matter of urgency,” Child told TechRadar. “Let’s do something that hasn’t been done in any medium yet. But yeah, I would certainly do the ones that were features, but they’re on the back burner, rather than the next one.”
Alan Ritchson will return as Jack ReacherPrime Video
Don’t expect any casting announcements until the source material is revealed, but we do know that Alan Ritchson will be back as Jack Reacher for the fourth season.
When speaking about his involvement, Amazon and MGM Studios chief Jennifer Salke told The Hollywood Reporter in April 2024: “We’ll have Alan as long as he will play Jack Reacher. [There’s] no end in sight for that. [So] hopefully, that’s for a very, very, very long time.”
While Ritchson himself said in the same feature: “I owe it to the audience to explore as many of these books as my body will allow. And I owe it to the people that took a shot on me when I was a huge risk for them. They have given me a real career.”
Maria Stenn is also likely to cameo as Frances Neagley, as she’s a fan-favorite, as well as being one of Jack’s only friends and confidantes. Plus, she’s getting her own spinoff show very soon, so Prime Video will doubtless be planning some cross-promotion via crossover appearances.
