Social media users are claiming that Trump Jr, the son of President Donald Trump, said that the U.S. should send weapons to Russia on an episode of his podcast.
âBREAKING: Donald Trump Jr. stated: âI truly canât understand why anyone in their right mind would choose Ukraine as an ally when Russia is the alternative. The U.S. should have been supplying weapons to Russia instead,'â a user posted.
This claim is false. Check Your Fact reviewed the Rumble livestream of Trump Jrâs podcast and did not find him making this statement. The episode is not available on Spotify, further casting doubt on this claim.
Andrew Surabian, a representative for Trump Jr, said on X that the audio was fake.
âThis is 100% fake AI generated audio, but Iâm sure that wonât stop anti-Trump resistance accounts from continuing to dishonestly spread it,â Surabian tweeted.
The claim was spread by an account operated by the Democratic National Committee and other big social media accounts, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
