Final Third Of Michael Jackson Biopic May Have To Be Scrapped: Report
A long-forgotten contract with one of the children who accused of the singer of sexual abuse is forcing filmmakers to revise the biopic's final act, per a report.
The filmmakers behind the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic are being forced to reshoot the filmâs entire third act because of a forgotten contract with one of the singerâs accusers.
âMichael,â directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring the singerâs nephew, Jaafar Jackson, is scheduled to be released this coming October.

But Fuqua and others involved in the making of the picture recently learned of an agreement made between the singerâs estate and Jordan Chandler, who claimed Jackson molested him when he was 13, Puck Newsâ Matthew Belloni reports.
Chandler and his family accused the singer in the early 1990s, but later settled for a reported $20 million.
One of the agreements Jacksonâs estate made with the Chandlers decades ago is that the family would never be included in any dramatization about the singer. Puck said two sources confirmed the signed agreement, but the estate apparently overlooked the deal when the script was being vetted.

Itâs a big issue, because the filmâs original script âłwants very much to convince you Michael is innocent,â Belloni, who saw a version of it, wrote last April.
Now, the resurfaced contract has reportedly rendered a major part of the storyline and key scenes unusable.
That deal between the Jackson estate and the Chandlers means the final part of the movie has to be rewritten and reshot â putting the October release date in potential jeopardy.

HuffPost reached out to Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, for comment, but no one immediately responded. Read the full report on Puck.
