Get Ready to Believe Again: 'Ted Lasso' Is Returning for Season Four
'Ted Lasso' is set to return to Apple TV+ for a fourth season, with Jason Sudeikis reprising his role as the titular soccer coach.

Just two years after its supposed third and final season, Apple TV+ has confirmed that Ted Lasso will return.
Jason Sudeikis is set to reprise his role as the titular coach in the fourth season, and it looks like much of the show’s creative team will be returning, too. That includes writer/actor Brett Goldstein, who played AFC Richmond vet Roy Kent, and producer/actor Brendan Hunt, who played Lasso’s assistant coach and friend, Willis Beard.
No other details about Season Four were revealed, like if there would be any new additions to the cast, or who else from the original run would be returning. It’s also unclear when production on Season Four will begin, and when it will air.
As far as plot goes, it’s unclear where the show plans to pick up after what appeared to be a decisive Season Three finale. At the end (spoiler alert), Ted decided it was time to leave England, Roy took over as AFC Richmond head coach, and team owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) sold almost half of her stake in the club.
In a statement Sudeikis offered only a very broad tease for what’s in store, saying, “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’ in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Ted Lasso — which began as a promotional campaign for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League — enjoyed an extremely successful three season run following its premiere in 2020. The show won 11 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series two years in a row. Sudeikis and Goldstein both won Outstanding Actor and Supporting Actor twice, respectively, while Waddingham picked up an Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy as well.
