Gino D'Acampo and wife put on united front after 'distressing' allegations
Gino D'Acampo has been accused of "sexually inappropriate behaviour" by dozens of people.
Gino D'Acampo has made a public display of unity with his wife amid allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour levelled against him. The TV chef took to Instagram to share a video featuring his wife just as the ITV probe was announced.
Gino has been accused of "sexually inappropriate" behaviour by multiple individuals, describing their experiences as "unacceptable, distressing and horrendous". These claims, reported by ITV News, span over a period of more than 12 years.
Gino has "firmly denied" these allegations, stating they are "deeply upsetting". Concurrently with the release of the probe, Gino posted a light-hearted clip with his wife Jessica and friend Fred Siriex.
The trio were seen entering a party with Fred playfully taking Jessica's arm. They all laughed together when Jessica mistakenly grabbed Fred's hand instead of her husband's.
Gino captioned the post: "When the Wife chooses the wrong foreigner! GDx."
Gino, known for his appearances on This Morning and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, has been married to Jessica for 22 years. He credits her as the driving force behind his move to the UK.
The couple, who met as teenagers working in a restaurant in Marbella, have three children: Luciano, 22, Rocco, 19, and Mia, 12.
Among the allegations made against the chef, one woman referred to as Hannah, claimed D'Acampo directed sexualised comments at her during a magazine photoshoot in 2011. Another woman alleged seeing him intimidate a young colleague in 2019.
Furthermore, additional women have accused D'Acampo of making sexual remarks while working on his shows.
D'Acampo's legal representation firmly denied the allegations in a statement. They said: "Mr DâAcampo categorically denies these allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour.
"To his knowledge no such allegations have been made against him in relation to his time on 'Ginoâs Italian Express' and this is the first time, six years later, he has been informed of these alleged incidents, and he does not accept them, not least because some of this is considered by Mr DâAcampo to be a fabricated work of fiction."
Gino himself vehemently denied any wrongdoing in a statement to ITV News, saying: "I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over 10 years ago.
"I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me."
He continued: "Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.
"I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting."
