Gino D'Acampo's ITV shows scrapped amid 'sexually inappropriate' behaviour claim
Gino D'Acampo has been hit with dozens of claims of Dozens of "distressing" and "sexually inappropriate" but the ITV chef has firmly denied these allegations.
Gino D'Acampo's television projects with ITV have been yanked from the broadcast line-up amidst allegations of "distressing" and "sexually inappropriate" conduct.
Numerous individuals have shared experiences described as "unacceptable," "distressing," and "horrendous" that they claim occurred while working alongside the celebrity chef throughout more than 12 years.
Gino, 48, known for appearances on ITV shows like Family Fortunes and Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible, is facing historical accusations dating back more than a decade, the Mirror reports.
It's reported that those involved were apprehensive about potential repercussions should they reveal their claims about the celebrity chef. Gino has "firmly denied" the allegations raised by "dozens" of people, stating the claims are "deeply upsetting".
Gino D'Acampo hosts Family Fortunes for ITV (Image: ITV)In response to the controversy, ITV has cancelled two episodes of 'Gino's Italy: Secrets of the South', which were scheduled to broadcast from 6pm to 7pm on Sunday on ITVBe; they'll be replaced by 'Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes'.
Furthermore, there are reports that Family Fortunes won't air as planned and ITV News suggests that episodes shot in 2023 will be shelved indefinitely.
Expected to be released this spring, these episodes now seem uncertain as ITV is rumoured to have "no plans" to continue collaborations with Gino.
A woman, referred to as Hannah to conceal her identity, has come forward during an investigation with allegations against D'Acampo from 2011.
She recounted receiving a crude remark from Gino, claiming he expressed a desire to "like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter."
According to her account, the comment was met with laughter from some crew members, but she observed looks of "shock" and "horror" on others, leaving her feeling "very, very, very small".
In a conversation with an ITV News Correspondent, Hannah described the incident as a "power play" and found the nature of his alleged words aggressive, stating: "He did not think that was an inappropriate thing to say to me."
Gino's legal team has responded to the claims, asserting: "This allegation from almost 15 years ago has never, until now via a media request for comment, been raised or put to Mr D'Acampo. He does not recall it, nor accept that this happened. Mr D'Acampo is horrified to be accused of 'power play' and an 'aggressive act'. He emphatically and unequivocally denies these allegations."
The chef has denied the allegations against him (Image: ITV)Another woman has also spoken out to the news broadcaster about an uncomfortable encounter with Gino, where he allegedly greeted her in just his boxer shorts and made a suggestive comment about his genitalia, saying: "It's only small."
This woman, who also remains anonymous, expressed that she felt "disgusted" having to "sit there" during the alleged incident.
Legal representatives for the celebrity chef issued a statement, declaring: "Mr D'Acampo categorically denies these allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour.
"To his knowledge no such allegations have been made against him in relation to his time on 'Gino's Italian Express' and this is the first time, six years later, he has been informed of these alleged incidents, and he does not accept them, not least because some of this is considered by Mr D'Acampo to be a fabricated work of fiction."
Gino himself addressed the accusations in an interview with ITV News, stating: "I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago.

"I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me."
He further added: "Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.
"I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting."
