Gino D'Acampo shows vanish from TV schedule after behaviour allegations
A number of Gino D'Acampo's shows have vanished the ITV schedule after allegations were made about his behaviour on set by anonymous accusers
TV chef Gino D'Acampo's upcoming shows have been removed from the ITV schedule after the star was accused of "distressing" and "sexually inappropriate" behaviour by "dozens of people." In a statement on Thursday D'Acampo "firmly denied" the "deeply upsetting" allegations reported by an ITV News probe.
An episode of Family Fortunes due to air on ITV2 on Friday has been removed and replaced by Wheel of Fortune, an ITV spokesperson told BBC News. Sunday's two episodes of Secrets of the South are also no longer in the ITVBe Schedule.
The BBC also reports that there are now no repeats featuring D'Acampo in ITV's linear schedule. However, some of his programmes are still available on ITVX, the broadcaster's streaming service. For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter
D'Acampo, 48, has regularly appeared on UK television since the early 2000s. The TV chef regularly appeared on This Morning as well as presenting various cooking programmes, including Gino's Italian Escape. In June 2020, it was announced that D'Acampo would be the host of the revival series of Family Fortunes.
D'Acampo faces accusations dating back over 10 years. A number of people have reported alleged experiences described as "unacceptable," "distressing" and "horrendous" while working with him over a 12-year-period, an ITV News probe revealed. You can read more about that here.
In response to all allegations, Mr D'Acampo told ITV News: "I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago. I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.
"Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately. I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting."
