Glastonbury Festival fans issue warning as they make complaint about 2025 lineup

This morning, Glastonbury fans were treated to the first taste of the summer festival as the headliners and acts for the global music event were revealed.
Taking to the Pyramid Stage on Friday will be first-time headliners, British pop-rock group The 1975, while American pop-punk songwriter Olivia Rodrigo will close out the stage on Sunday night. Rod Stewart is taking this year's 'legends' slot on the Sunday too.

Though previously revealed, it is now confirmed that Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts will play on the Pyramid Stage Saturday night, following an unforgettable set in 2009. Raye will also return, playing before Young.
Charli xcx is set for her biggest performance at Glastonbury after taking over the world with her BRAT album last year, headlining the Other Stage on Saturday night. Loyle Carner will headline Other on the Friday and The Prodigy will close the Festival there on Sunday night.
New talent including Florida rapper Doechii and British singer Lola Young are also set to perform, alongside much-loved acts such as Wolf Alice, St Vincent, and Wet Leg. The weekend will also see performances from Loyle Carner, Biffy Clyro, Alanis Morissette, Busta Rhymes, Blossoms, Self Esteem, The Prodigy, The Libertines and AJ Tracey.

As is often the way after the big reveal, music fans have taken to social media to express their opinions on the line-up. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter there's been a mix response with some saying it's 'perfection', while others said it 'lacked quality'.
On the acts taking to the stage, one user predicted that Doechii's set will be 'iconic', while another said they were 'convinced' that Sam Fender would play after his UK stadium shows.

Another wrote: "Cracking line up. Not mega on the Pyramid headliners but there’s really good depth there. You’d have three great days of music."
Meanwhile, over on Reddit, attention turned to potential set clashes. Those who have been to Glastonbury before will know of the potential set clashes between the biggest acts, and this year fans have issued some advice to those attending and pleaded with the organisers not to put two main acts on at the same time.
One wrote: "Yearly reminder: There is so many more acts than this. The best times are often the ones you don’t plan for. Not wanting to see a headliner is great so you don’t have to worry about big clashes.

"Glasto. Please don’t put Neil young on pyramid with charli on other stage at the same time."
Picking up on this, another added: "Neil vs Charli is interesting… in theory attracting to sets of distinct crowds but the festival skews so much younger these days (I don’t know if it actually does it just feels that way) I could see a Avril style sardine situation at the Other Stage."

On the subject of Charli xcx, others felt she should have been given a headline spot on the Pyramid Stage. "Why didn’t they just let Charli headline," they complained.
Adding: "After the year she’s had it would have been amazing."
Echoing this, another Reddit user wrote: "Agree a Charli headline on the pyramid stage on Friday would have worked well I think to get the weekend going."

On other potential clashes, another Reddit user asked fellow fans: "So the top three bands do we reckon our Headliner, main stage sub, Other Stage Headliner and West Holts headliner? I'm trying to calculate clashes. Is Alanis Morrissette clashing with Biffy Clyro?"
And other said: "So I'm gonna guess, the prodigy and Olivia Rodrigo will be on at the same time. As a person with a really wide range of musical interest, this is annoying lol."

Meanwhile, on the calibre of the headliners, some were a little disappointed to see no 'heavy-hitters' as they put it. "I don’t think they’re bad artists, I just think they could have put other artists as the headliners," wrote one person.
"Rod is good for a legends perspective, 1975 have been big hitters for a decade now, and Olivia has been huge of recent. But there’s no megastars here! No Rihanna, or a Calvin Harris, or Elton or Coldplay etc."
For those who were concerned that some acts were missing from the initial line-up, seasoned festival-goers reminded them that it is only the first poster and more acts will be announced.

"No pulp is a disappointment and headliners are predictably terrible but plenty of other good acts to see," said a disappointed fan.
But as others pointed out, there is also the chance of secret sets and later announcements.
Glastonbury Festival 2025 will take place from June 25 to June 29 at Worthy Farm in Somerset.
