Good Morning Britain guest in tearful tribute to friend Linda Nolan
Good Morning Britain welcomed actress Vicki Michelle, who appeared alongside Linda Nolan in the 1970s, as she paid an emotional tribute to the late TV star
Actress Vicki Michelle gave a heartfelt tribute to her late friend Linda Nolan on Good Morning Britain this Thursday. Following the sad news of actress and singer Linda's passing on Wednesday 15 January, Vicki joined presenters Ed Balls and Kate Garraway on the GMB couch to reminisce about their long-standing friendship.
The pair had been close since the '70s, with Linda performing in The Nolans and Vicki gracing TV screens in comedy classics like The Two Ronnies and The Goodies. Linda, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer two decades ago, was remembered fondly by Vicki, who poignantly shared: "I didn't ever think she'd go." She added, "I thought she'd get through this and it would be like 20 years ago when it was first there."

Vicki also recounted how Linda met her husband Brian Hudson during their fun-filled Essex outings in the '70s, describing their love as one for the ages.
Vicki praised Linda's openness about her cancer battle, noting how her candour provided hope and encouragement to many, saying, "She was open and honest and gave support and hope and confidence to so many people. I think that helped her cope with it as well because she was helping people and inspiring them not to give up," reports the Mirror.
Vicki suffered the heartache of losing her beloved sister, Suzie, after she battled a brain tumour in 2023. Sharing her grief with Linda, who had previously lost her sister Bernie to breast cancer back in 2013, Vicki confessed, "My family are like hers, we are all really close and we live within 10 minutes of each other, so when something like that happens it is traumatic, and you don't get over it."

She added, "It's been over a year since we lost Suzie and I still think of her as there, and I think the whole family will think the same of Linda, she's still there because of her energy."
Linda Nolan, famed for hitting the charts with The Nolans' iconic tune I'm in the Mood for Dancing, which soared to number 3 in the UK in 1979, and gracing the West End stages, sadly passed away at age 65. After bravely sharing her journey with secondary breast cancer, Linda was surrounded by the love of her famous sisters until her very last moments, described as filled with "love and comfort".
In a statement given to the Mirror, Dermot McNamara, Linda’s agent, said: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist. She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn't do enough, they were tireless."
