Even so, it wasnât until the pair had finished school (Cosmo went to Eton and Bronya remained up north, attending Strathallan, an elite co-ed boarding school in Perthshire) that they reconnected over tea with their mothers at Cluny. Developing a friendship in their early twenties, they would hang out together at parties in London and Scotland, and their relationship blossomed from platonic to romantic. In February 2018, Cosmo proposed at the top of a mountain in Chamonix during their annual ski trip and they married the following year. âOur wedding was amazing,â Bronya beams, recalling the gathering of 200 of the coupleâs nearest and dearest â including society swans Carinthia Pearson and Princess Katarina of Yugoslaviaâs daughter, Victoria De Silva, and Geordie Bowes-Lyon. They partied until the early hours, spilling out onto the grounds at Cluny, with one guest floating across the lake on an inflatable unicorn (a wedding present from Guy, âthe most energetic and fun guy youâll ever meetâ, says Bronya of her brother-in-law).

National Galleries of Scotland/Getty ImagesThe coupleâs chemistry is immediately apparent as they laugh and joke with one another and light up over their plans for the future. â[Weâre] trying to bring in a fresh way of doing it,â says Bronya. As they have worked their way through the castle, revamping each corner sympathetically, there are hints of their millennial style; a display of vintage Vogue covers (including Kate Mossâs first) adorns an entire wall in the West Wing. âWe want to make it quirky, but still hold on to the tradition,â she adds. âMy dream is to have a mini Revival [Car Show] here. There are a lot of great routes for classic cars around here, Iâd love to have Cluny as a stop-off.â It would be a natural fit: when she isnât helping her husband make fabric decisions for the bedrooms in the West Wing or tackling a flood approaching the castle during the winter months, Bronya is travelling around the world in her role as senior partnership manager for a Formula E racing team. While Cosmo runs the castle during the week, Bronya spends her working hours in London, where they own a Battersea flat, as well as on trips. (This year, sheâll be by the racetracks in Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Rome and Berlin.) Thatâs partly why Cosmo has been pursuing his new hobby of flying small planes â following in the footsteps of other high-society flyers such as the Earl of Medina, who whizzes up to Glenbuchat Estate in his helicopter. âThe plan is to get the private pilot licence and then potentially to turn the top field into an airstrip,â he explains, his eyes in a dreamlike daze. âBronya probably will be somewhere in Spain and perhaps Iâll fly in with Grimsby.â
