Gregory Porter has revealed his painful struggles during The Masked Singer.
Grammy winning singer Gregory Porter emerged as the runner-up as the ITV show aired its big finale. The 53-year-old was unmasked as Dressed Crab, shortly before West End star Samantha Barks was crowned the show's winner as Pufferfish. However, the music star has opened up about the difficulties he faced while filing the ITV show - revealing that he had to tackle claustrophobia in the costume.
Speaking to host Joel Dommett after being revealed as Dressed Crab, Gregory admitted that he struggled in the vast costume. "I'm not going to lie," he said. "I had to get over a little bit of claustrophobia, you know. Who needs oxygen? Who needs oxygen?" Despite the claustrophobic battle, Gregory said that he enjoyed his time on the show. "This is extraordinary, this is a real moment for me," he said.
"It's fun, sometimes I'm singing all those serious songs but this was fun, this was just real fun!" The singer left the celebrity panel impressed week after week with his performances of Bill Withers' Lean on Me, Let's Groove by Early, Wind & Fire, Lenny Kravtiz' Are You Gonna Go My Way and California Dreamin' by The Mamas & the Papas.

While in the final, Gregory blew viewers away with his renditions of Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers and Ain't No Mountain High Enough - a duet with series five star Keala Settle. Despite the exciting finale, many viewers threatened to turn off their TVs due to the show's "complicated" clues, with some complaining that they made the guessing game too difficult.
"I think the clues are too hard to work out who people are," one viewer said. "I get not putting includes that are too obvious but this year's feels so hard, I can hardly work out any!"" Another chimed in: "Make the clues less complicated! It might just be me but I find them so weird."
Meanwhile, Mo Gilligan was missing from tonight's celebrity panel, with the show leaving viewers puzzled after failing to acknowledge his absence. This wasn't the first time that the comedian was missing from the show, with Mo absent from the semi-final as well.
One fan wrote on X: "Where is Mo on masked singer heâs not even been mentioned????" Another typed: "Where did Mo go from the Masked Singer ??" While a further fan typed: "Where's Mo Gilligan? He's been absent in the past couple of episodes.#MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSinger."
The Mirror reported last week that Mo had missed the final episodes of the most recent series due to work commitments, having embarked on a recent tour.
