HGTV's Erin & Ben Napier Share 'Bittersweet News' About Beloved Family Home: 'I'm Sad For Us'
Erin and Ben Napier of HGTV's "Home Town" revealed they're feeling "sad" about a move that will change things for their family.
Among the more than 100 houses HGTV stars Erin and Ben Napier have renovated in their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, certain ones hold special meaning to their family. On January 19, 2025, the couple revealed that a cottage they restored on the fifth season of “Home Town” — for Ben’s younger brother Jesse and his family — is up for sale.
In her Instagram Stories on January 19, Erin wrote, “there is some bittersweet news. one of our favorite houses we had the joy of renovating is on the market.” Both she and Ben shared posts lamenting the loss of such a beloved home filled with so many memories.
In an Instagram post featuring photos of special family moments captured at the home, Ben shared, “There has been a lot of living done in the last 4 years in that green cottage. Christmases, family get togethers, new babies, last minute meals. I’ve had almost as many cups of coffee in their kitchen with my mom as I have in my own kitchen.”
“We will miss walking over on lazy Saturdays,” Ben continued. “Mae used to call it her cussin’s house. Now it’s just Nell and Hank’s house, but it could be your house! If you buy it, you better be a good person who loves it.”

On the 13th episode of “Home Town” season 5, which first aired in April 2021, the Napiers transformed a post-war cottage for Ben’s brother Jesse and his wife, Lauren, who announced on the show she was expecting their daughter Nell and the Napiers revealed they were expecting their second baby, daughter Mae.
Though Jesse declared it was their “forever home,” the house has grown too small for their family of four. When someone asked Ben on his post where they’re going, he replied, “looking for more land!”
Erin reiterated their desire for more land, writing in her Stories, “ben’s little brother jesse and his family are ready for more space, and a few acres to grow a big garden. gonna miss them being in town so much. praying a good family scoops it up.”
In an Instagram post Erin shared, she wrote, “So many family dinners and play dates. They’re ready for life in the country with lots of land to grow a garden and watch their babies grow up roaming the woods. I won’t be able to look at this one vacant. ???? Praying a great family who will love it like we all have finds the link in my stories!”

Realtor Kandace Monsivais of Red Fox Realty is managing Jesse and Lauren Napier’s home listing. On January 19, she shared an Instagram video of the couple giving a tour of their favorite spaces in the home.
When they renovated the three-bedroom, two-bath property on “Home Town,” the “all-in budget” they shared on the show was $200,000. Nearly four years later, the 1,760-square-foot house is listed for $275,000.
The listing says the home, located “minutes from the heart of Laurel,” features “a gorgeous kitchen that opens to a patio, perfect for entertaining or enjoying quiet mornings, adding that “the large primary suite offers a serene retreat with a spacious bathroom, while the backyard, complete with a cute deck, is ideal for gatherings or relaxation.”
In her Instagram Stories, Erin shared some of the 40 photos that are part of the listing and noted some of her favorite spaces in the house — from the spot where Jesse and Lauren always put up their Christmas tree to the large picture window in the kitchen, writing, “we had so many good meals in that window.”
In another Story, Erin added, “I’m sad for us, but happy for them. ???? heirloom rooms and whatnot”
