Hailee Steinfeld and fiancé Josh Allen are a perfect match both in and out of the kitchen.
“I’m a real good sous chef, I’ll say that much. I can assist very well,” Steinfeld, 28, told People in an interview published on Wednesday, February 12, noting that cooking is “one of our favorite things to do together.”
Steinfeld and Allen, also 28, have been together since spring 2023 and got engaged last year. After keeping their relationship relatively private, the couple began to gush about each other more as their romance progressed.
“There really isn’t anything he’s not great at,” Steinfeld told the outlet while discussing her new Angel Margarita venture. “So, he can cook, and I love to just sit back and watch the magic happen and assist when and where I can — but it changes often!”

Michael Owens/Getty Images Hailee Steinfeld is all for a Pinterest perfect Valentine’s Day, but teased that’s not something she and fiancé Josh Allen will be focused on for the holiday. “For me, Valentine’s Day will most likely be a low-key evening,” Steinfeld, 28, shared in the Friday, February 7, issue of her Beau Society newsletter. Since learning of Allen’s culinary skills, the actress has come up with applicable holiday gifts. For Christmas 2023, Steinfeld surprised Allen with a Miyabi Kaizen chef’s knife.
“I got this knife for Josh last year for Christmas because cooking is something we love to do together,” Steinfeld wrote in an October 2024 issue of her “Beau Society” newsletter. “For Christmas he got me … the same one in a different colorway!”
She added at the time, “He told me there’s an old wive’s tale that if you gift your significant other a knife you have to pay for it, otherwise it signifies the severing of a relationship. So, we exchanged quarters so we didn’t have that bad omen. … Anyway, oh, my God, I love this knife! I don’t know much about a chef’s knife, but it is just so nice and makes me feel official.”
Allen went on to propose to Steinfeld in November 2024 during his NFL bye week. The couple made their official red carpet debut earlier this month at the 2025 NFL Honors. Steinfeld was by the Buffalo Bills quarterback’s side when he won the MVP award.

“[To] my fiancée, Hailee. You’ve been my rock,” he gushed in his speech at the event on Thursday, February 6. “You are my best friend [and] I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you. So, with that being said, be good, do good, God bless and go Bills.”
Steinfeld later shared footage of the moment via her Instagram with the caption, “That’s MVP Josh Allen to you! ????.”

Allen simply replied: “I love you.”
Next up, the engaged pair plan to have a “low-key” Valentine’s Day celebration that starts in the kitchen.
“[We will] pull out a recipe we haven’t tried, cook it together, and turn in early,” Steinfeld wrote in her newsletter this month. “As much as I want to go on Pinterest and turn my house into a Valentine’s Day party (every single year), it always ends up being something way more casual, like a red balloon tied on a barstool in the kitchen next to a plate of pink-frosted cookies.”
