The stars of MBC’s “When the Phone RIngs” have shared their thoughts on what viewers can look forward to in the upcoming drama!
Based on a popular web novel, “When the Phone Rings” tells the story of Baek Sa Eon (Yoo Yeon Seok) and Hong Hee Joo (Chae Soo Bin), a couple that married for convenience—and the the romance that blossoms between them after a threatening phone call.
Yoo Yeon Seok remarked, “I hope viewers will be interested in this mix of the romance and thriller genres. If you pay close attention to how Sa Eon and Hee Joo’s relationship transforms, you’ll be able to gradually discover more and more of both characters’ charms.”
Meanwhile, Chae Soo Bin noted, “Hee Joo and Sa Eon have feelings for one another, but they’re not good at expressing those feelings, which leads to misunderstandings. Please keep an eye on the journey of how they learn about one another’s true feelings through this threatening phone call.”
Heo Nam Jun will play the role of Ji Sang Woo, a handsome and caring psychiatrist.
“As you watch, please focus on the collisions between people who each have their own motives and thoughts,” said the actor. “The characters’ relationship and motivations will unfold in an intriguing way, so please give the drama lots of interest.”
Finally, Jang Gyuri will play popular television anchor Na Yu Ri. “I think the key point of the drama is the journey of each character letting go of their past wounds and finding love,” she said. “Please keep an eye on the change in Yu Ri and Sang Woo’s chemistry as well.”
Jang Gyuri went on to add, “In an era where there isn’t enough conversation between people and we tend to steer clear of communication, I hope that viewers will find comfort in and empathize with our drama.”
“When the Phone Rings” will premiere on November 22 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
