Hating on Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs in Super Bowl comes down to one little word

The same for Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Derek Jeter when they dominated the sports world.
Obviously, almost every 'real' NFL fan in the world is tired of seeing quick TV shots of Taylor Swift jumping up and screaming in unbridled high school-like joy after Travis Kelce catches another 8-yard pass.
That's so 2023.
But hating on the Kansas City Chiefs post after post on social media?

Threatening to 'boycott' Super Bowl LIX two weeks before the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs take over the roaring Superdome in New Orleans, and insisting there's no way that you're watching even a second of Saquon Barkley in the biggest game of his life?
How childish.
Silly.
And totally jealous.

“It's just so hard to get to the Super Bowl and I don't take it for granted, and to do it again at Arrowhead Stadium was special,” said Mahomes, after Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills fell agonizingly short of the AFC's best again.
“You get that trophy on that stage and you look around here and there's not an empty seat — it's special.”

It's incredibly special, and could soon reach historic proportions.
The first Super Bowl was played way back in 1967 and most of America didn't know that it existed at the time.
Fifty-eight years later, it's the biggest annual sporting event in the world, and it's easy to argue that the NFL is the biggest sports league on the planet.
When the Chiefs went back-to-back in 2023 and Kelce kissed Swift again, an average of 123.4 million human beings watched the Super Bowl.
The last time that many people watched a TV as the same time, it was 1969 and the United States was landing astronauts on the moon for the first time.
Boycott all you want.
But 123 million or so will enjoy Mahomes, Kelce, Brady and Kendrick Lamar just fine on February 9.
Spouting seething hate toward Mahomes says much more about you than him.
"Do we remember this Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting," Brittany Mahomes posted, referring to Bills fans hanging a Mahomes-like Kermit the Frog doll on a pole.
"As you go home tonight, I pray we become better people."
One of the biggest Chiefs haters on Earth is also the world's biggest Patriots homer.
Coincidence?

Obviously not.
Other anti-Chiefs tweeters resemble immature third-graders, yelling at the teacher every time that Mahomes receives a questionable yellow flag that benefits one of the greatest quarterbacks in history.
Kansas City has been to seven straight AFC Championships.
Mahomes is ahead of Brady's GOAT pace -- and Mahomes has never been accused of cheating or been suspended by the NFL.
Andy Reid is fun, funny, likeable and has overcome serious personal tragedy.
It's sad that in 2025 athletic greatness -- coupled with hard work, intense preparation and a singular focus while ignoring endless white noise -- is rewarded with petty jealousy and absurd conspiracy theories.
The NFL would still be raking in billions of dollars without Mahomes, Kelce, Swift and the Chiefs.
Pro football in the USA was already steamrolling everything in its path before Mahomes replaced Brady and Kansas City made New England passe.
“Every one of these is so special,” Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said.
“Patrick and their teammates always find a way to get it done. That was true this whole year. And it’s a credit to coach Reid and his amazing staff.
"Now we get to do something that’s never been done before.”
The Eagles winning it all in New Orleans would be a terrific story.
In Week 5, half of Philadelphia was ready to fire Nick Sirianni and freaking out about his newly shaved head.

But a Chiefs three-peat would be truly historic.
The greatest run in NFL history, during an era when the easiest thing in the world to do is to hate post on social media for free.
