Hayden Christensen famously returned to the tragic role of Anakin Skywalker in both "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and "Ahsoka," and apparently his time in "Star Wars" isn't done yet. The news comes from Star Wars Celebration 2025, per The Hollywood Reporter, that Christensen will once more be reprising the role in season 2 of "Star Wars: Ahsoka".

Christensen appeared in two episodes of "Ahsoka" Season 1, after the titular hero is defeated in a duel by Baylan Skoll. Ahsoka is forced to confront a force ghost version of Anakin, as well as flashbacks of her younger self fighting alongside her former master during the Clone Wars. She meets him in a kind of astral plane called The World Between Worlds; a place introduced in "Star Wars: Rebels" in which time and space are fluid and connect to all different points in history.

Filoni also confirmed that the famous Admiral Akbar will return for Season 2 of "Ahsoka," and that the Mon Calamari admiral will be battling the blue-skinned Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). He also discussed Rory McCann taking over the roll of Baylan Skoll from Ray Stevenson. Stevenson passed away in May 2023 while filming "Cassino in Ischia."

The news of Christiansen's return joins a growing list of news coming out of Star Wars Celebration. The convention premiered a sizzle reel of footage from next year's "The Mandalorian & Grogu". We learned that Sam Witwer will be reprising the voice role of Darth Maul for a Disney+ animated series "Maul: Shadow Lord." Finally, the title and release date of Shawn Levy's Ryan Gosling-starring "Star Wars" film was announced. "Star Wars: Starfighter" will release May 28, 2027, only a few weeks after "Avengers: Secret Wars".
