Amazon MGM Studiosâ recent acquisition of greater creative control over the James Bond franchise has ignited speculation about the next actor to don the iconic tuxedo. With Daniel Craigâs tenure as 007 concluded, Henry Cavill has emerged as a top contender. Given Cavillâs deepening ties with Amazon through multiple projects, the British actorâs chances of securing the coveted role have never been stronger.

Wilson, Amazonâs involvement may introduce a new level of commercial strategy. Henry Cavillâs collaboration with Amazon is rapidly expanding, further strengthening his case to become the next James Bond. The British actor headlined Guy Ritchieâs The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, an Amazon project that showcased his proficiency in espionage-driven narratives. This World War II action film aligns with the gritty, stylish tone (albeit with a dash more humor) often associated with Bond, positioning Cavill as a natural fit for the franchise.
Additionally, Amazon has secured Cavill for its upcoming Voltron film, reinforcing its investment in the actor as a leading man who can be trusted with existing IP. Perhaps most significantly, Cavill is spearheading the development of a live-action Warhammer 40,000 universe for Prime Video, serving as both star and executive producer. Itâs a passion project for the actor, who hasnât been shy about sharing his fandom. His deep creative involvement in these projects underscores Amazonâs confidence in his ability to anchor major franchises.
Cavill has long been a fan favorite to take on the role of James Bond. He previously came close to landing the part in 2005, when director Martin Campbell selected Daniel Craig over a then-22-year-old Cavill for Casino Royale.
