WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Severance season 2
The latest episode of Severance introduced a fresh face, Gretchen George (portrayed by Merritt Wever), the spouse of severed Lumon employee Dylan George (Zach Cherry).
In the second episode, Dylan was informed that good behaviour would earn him a meeting with his Outie's family, causing a rift between him and his colleagues. Consequently, Dylan complied, keeping secrets and deviating from his fellow Innies' mission to locate Ms Casey/Gemma (Dichen Lachman).
Thanks to his compliance, Dylan was granted an 18-minute encounter with his Outie's wife Gretchen, who enlightened him about his Outie self and shared photos of their children. According to IMDb, she will feature in eight out of the 10 episodes of Severance season two.
Fans are intrigued about where they've seen the actress before - here's the scoop. American actress Wever is perhaps most recognised for her role as Zoey in the TV series Nurse Jackie, which won her an Emmy Award in 2013.

The 44 year old launched her career in the 1990s, featuring in independent and low-budget films, as well as off-Broadway theatre productions. Wever's film credits include Into the Wild, Neal Cassady and Michael Clayton, reports the Mirror US.
As her career progressed, she guest-starred in various TV shows such as The Good Wife, Conviction, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, New Girl, and The Wire.
She's known for her recurring role in AMC's The Walking Dead, with her character's exit in season six sparking fan uproar. Wever also starred in the Netflix series Godless, earning her critical praise and another Emmy Award.
Merritt Wever will be appearing in a BBC Lockerbie drama series
In 2019, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in Unbelievable. More recently, she's appeared in Roar, Tiny Beautiful Things, Memory, and Run.
According to IMDb, Wever has a slew of upcoming projects, including BBC's Lockerbie, a TV series centred on the tragic Pan Am Flight 103 crash of 1988. She shares the screen with SAS Rogue Heroes and Sex Education star Connor Swindells, Eddie Marsan, Peter Mullan, Outlander's Lauren Lyle, Phyllis Logan, and Suits actor Patrick J. Adams.
This is the second TV show about the disaster following Colin Firth's Sky series Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, which debuted earlier this month.
Other future projects include roles in The Gilded Age and a Christy Martin Biopic.
