Hojlund gives instant response to Daniel Sturridge "selfish" Man Utd claim

Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund offered the perfect response to Daniel Sturridge after the former Liverpool forward said that he needed to be more "selfish".
Speaking on Sky Sports before United's trip to Bournemouth on Sunday, Sturridge offered his verdict on Hojlund's disappointing form and urged him to shoot more when he has the chance.

"Centre-back have had more shots," Sturridge said on Sky Sports. "I have had periods where I have had one shot coming off the pitch and it is down to me, my run selection.
Article continues below"It is also communicating with team-mates this is what I want from you. The one thing he has to improve on for me is being a little bit more selfish, you have to pick your spots. There's something in there, he is not a bad player, he has talent and maybe the setup he is in now isn’t allowing him to flourish."
Ahead of United's game against Bournemouth, Hojlund had scored just one goal in his last 19 Premier League appearances - and that came in the 3-0 win at 19th-place Leicester City.

Hojlund's form had been woeful, and although he wasn't involved as much as he would have hoped against Bournemouth, the Dane popped up with the all-important equaliser.
After Antoine Semenyo gave the Cherries the lead in the first half, Hojlund levelled in the 96th minute to earn United a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium. Manuel Ugarte's effort was flicked on by Hojlund, who steered the ball beyond Kepa Arrizabalaga and into the back of the net.
United head coach Ruben Amorim praised Hojlund in his post-match press conference, as the forward moved on to nine goals in 45 matches this season. "It is always important for strikers to score goals," he said.

"Again when we look at the game as a striker it is not just the goals. Of course that is really important and massive. It can change the game of course. It is a good boost but the next game is a new history and we have to go again."
Hojlund's goal could be massive for his confidence going into Thursday's Europa League semi-final first-leg against Athletic Club de Bilbao. United travel to Spain before hosting the La Liga side at Old Trafford seven days later.
As for United's performance against Bournemouth, Amorim conceded his team need to "do better" in the attacking third. They had a whopping 25 shots but scored just one goal.

"We could do better," he said. "We created chances but we need to do better near the box. It is small things. We have to understand the foot that is in play, crossing, one v ones. We need to understand the game in that way."
The former Sporting Lisbon boss added: "Today we pushed our opponent, especially after the sending off. We had the chances but again we didn't score."
