Hojlund issues telling eight-word Man United message after ending goal drought
Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund ended his seven-game drought after finding the net in stoppage-time against Bournemouth
Rasmus Hojlund has issued a defiant message after netting a 96th m-inute equaliser for Manchester United during their 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Denmark international has endured a torrid season. Before their trip to the Vitality Stadium, Hojlund had scored just eight times in 45 matches, with just three of them coming in the Premier League.
‌
Perhaps more worryingly, Hojlund had fired just 24 shots in the top-flight, with 122 players having more efforts in front of goal than the out-of-form United forward.

Heading into Sunday's encounter against Bournemouth, Hojlund had scored just once in 31 hours and four minutes, but he needed just one chance to find the net and break his seven-game goal drought.
After Antoine Semenyo put the Cherries in front in the first half, Hojlund levelled for United in stoppage-time. Manuel Ugarte got on the end of Luke Shaw's cross to poke the ball to Hojlund, who sorted his feet out before flicking the ball beyond Kepa Arrizabalaga and into the bottom corner.
There was a sense of relief in Hojlund's celebration, as he turned around and punched the air. The former Atalanta man didn't have time to celebrate too much, however, as United searching for a winner.
‌
Amorim's side failed to find a winning goal and had to settle for a point. And less than an hour after the final whistle, Hojlund took to Instagram and said: "We wanted the win, but I needed that."
Hojlund's goal could give him a much-needed confidence boost ahead of Thursday's Europa League semi-final first-leg against Athletic Club de Bilbao.
‌
And United head coach Amorim is hoping he can replicate that in Bilbao. "I will not say he is relaxed but he could be a little lighter during the week," he said after the game. He now needs to score many more.
"I see the training, the way they behave, the way they want to improve. I see the games also and I try to put out the best 11 to win games. It was a good moment for him but it’s just a goal. Let’s focus on Thursday."
