Holly Willoughby says co-star helped 'bravery' in first role after This Morning
The praise came after the full line-up of contestants was announced for the new Netflix show
Holly Willoughby has thanked her new co-star for helping her with her 'bravery' as fans are set to see her in the first show she filmed after her This Morning exit.
Adventurer and TV personality Bear Grylls is returning for a new Netflix show Celebrity Bear Hunt that sees celebs get pushed to their limits in the ultimate game of survival. The stars are involved in a terrifying game of cat and mouse as they try to escape the clutches of Bear Grylls.
The new Netflix show will be hosted by Holly and is set in a Costa Rican jungle and due to be released on the streaming service on the 5th February this year. A trailer was recently shared with Bear Grylls hiding behind a tree before declaring that âhe is going to be formidable preyâ as the camera shows Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Joe Thomas and Kola Bokinni.
The teaser then showed a celebrity scream as Bear Grylls sneaks up behind him, followed by the contestants are forced to jump out of moving boat, and are regularly seen wearing camouflage paint and outfits. Holly Willoughby explains: "This is the ultimate survival challenge, 12 celebrities are in the Costa Rican jungle going head-to-head with the legendary Bear Grylls. Anyone caught by Bear will be in danger of elimination."
Other celebs taking part include Spice Girls singer Mel B, retired rugby player Danny Cipriani, TV host Steph McGovern, Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas, TV chef Big Zuu, The Saturdays star Una Healy, models Lottie Moss and Leomie Anderson, and three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker.

Taking to Instagram, Bear Grylls posted a picture to his story of him covered head to toe in mud while stood next to Holly. He wrote: "And there is no better person to have help host this adventure than the unstoppable Holly Willoughby." He added: "Thank you Holly for bringing so much light and positivity to this Netflix adventure."
Responding to Bear's compliments, Holly reposted and shared: "Aww... and thank you Bear Grylls for helping me be a bit braver!" She continued: "Loved working with you... you're a real inspiration!"
This is one of Holly's most recent returns to television after she briefly stepped down from the spotlight when friend and co-presenter Phillip Schofield left This Morning after an "unwise but not illegal" affair with an employee. Holly announced she would also be leaving the daytime ITV show in early October 2023.

On her Instagram she wrote that it was a decision made for "me and my family" after 14 years presenting the show. Since then, Holly is currently hosting Dancing on Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern, as well as the pair taking on the return of ITV's You Bet!.
The show originally aired in 1988 and was hosted by TV icon Bruce Forsyth. After ten series, the show came to an end in 1997 before being revived in 2024.
Not a stranger to the backdrop of a jungle, Holly also co-presented the 2018 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! to briefly replace Ant McPartlin after he took a year-long break. If the celebrities get caught by Bear they're instantly eliminated, with Mel B describing the whole experience as "terrifying." Holly admitted that she doesn't think the celebrities "knew what they were signing up for".
Celebrity Bear Hunt is available to stream on Netflix on 5th February.
