Hollyoaks fans 'work out' DI Banks' wife's identity - and they've met her before
DI Banks is currently hiding a massive secret from his love interest Diane Hutchinson in Hollyoaks and fans of the Channel 4 soap are convinced they know who his wife is
Hollyoaks fans are convinced they've worked out the identity of DI Alistair Banks' mystery wife.
In recent scenes of the Channel 4 soap, the corrupt detective inspector, played by actor Drew Cain, confessed to his colleague Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) that he is secretly married despite building relationship with Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher).

DI Banks dropped the bombshell after Donny captured images of him doing a dodgy deal in a secluded location and was determined to cover his tracks.

Fans know that the police boss is secretly in charge of a criminal group involved in drug dealing and human trafficking with the likes of Grace Black (Tamara Black) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) working for him and grooming teens Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith).
Donny opened up to his partner Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) about how he believes that DI Banks might be dodgy but told her they canât tell Diane his secret yet.

It has been reported that Grace's sister Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) is returning to Hollyoaks after a 12-year hiatus despite being killed off and fans now think the village minx could be Mrs Banks.
Taking to social media, one fan penned: "Im assuming she's Banks' wife and they faked her death." Another added: "Clare is Banks' wife!!!! I definitely see this twist happening!"

A third person said: "Would love Claire back but she got hit pretty hard with that car to be alive still. Oh wait what if DI Banks was the one who ran her over then looked after her?"
A fourth agreed: "It probably is the twist knowing her and could be why Banks wanted Grace and Rex working for him."

Someone else wrote: "That would explain how she was able to fake her death AND would be a decent plot twist with her and Banks both as high-ranking gangsters.
Will be interesting to see how her and Grace are with each other though. I mean, there were times when Grace could've really used a sister and the whole time, Clare could've probably been there for her.

Fans will have to wait and see if DI Banks actually is secretly married or is this another twist in the tale?
Hollyoaks airs Monday to Wednesday on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 from 7am
