Second solid shift since his Dens Park horror show. Kept things simple at the back but nodded great second half chance over the bar at the other end.
Cameron Carter-Vickers - 7
The American international looked like he could have his hands full up against man mountain forward Silvere Ganvoula after an early tussle but kept him quiet till he was subbed.
Greg Taylor - 5

That apart it just wasn’t a night when things came off for the left-back and he was replaced by Valle.
Reo Hatate - 7
Sometimes wanted too much time on the ball. Deflected first half shot well saved.
Fired a couple of others over and found it harder when Young Boys dropped deeper.
Great pass for winner.
Callum McGregor - 8
Sparked attacks, broke up play and darted forward. Looked for ball over the top and thought he’d won tackle for Kyogo’s opener until VAR intervened.
Second half shot saved.
Nicolas Kuhn - 5
Looked set for trademark early goal but took too many touches. Picked up first half booking for hauling back Joe Monteiro and was another who found things tougher after the break.
Arne Engels - 5
Caught midway through the first half. Picked himself up then let himself down with weak spotkick.
Created early second half chance but passing wasn’t up to scratch and no surprise he was hooked.
Daizen Maeda - 5
Usual powers of energy and speed but lacked end product. Headed one chance over and saw another saved.
Late red card for kick at Mohamed Ali Camara caused nervier ending.
Kyogo Furuhashi - 5
Usually times his runs so well but needlessly caught offside as he smashed in two first half efforts and saw VAR rule out another.
Things just didn’t fall for him and subbed.
Subs: Alex Valle (3) on-loan Barcelona man was sent on for Taylor.
Paulo Bernardo (4) some crisper passing than Engels.
