The 52-year-old was hauled over the coals by tour bosses after footage emerged of him using the demeaning term ‘spit roast’ in a joke referring to the dancer and EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick.
After pulling out of a performance in Glasgow, Wynne - who will remain on the tour - later released a statement saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”
The shocking comment comes after his infamous 'grope-gate' incident with dance partner Katya Jones, which cast a shadow over their time on the series despite the pair insisting it was an in-joke gone wrong.
For Welsh singer Wynne, it is the latest setback in a series of personal troubles that at times have pushed him to the depths of despair.

Following his tumultuous divorce from ex-wife Tanwen Evans, he revealed how he was forced to leave the family home he shared with their two kids, shacking up in a "sad" derelict house with boarded up windows in Cardiff.
Admitting it was all he could afford, he said the house was in such a bad state when he moved in that the children even had to sleep in tents when they came to visit.
Speaking on The Starting Line podcast with Rich Leigh, he said: "It was a really sad house because it was derelict, and I moved here after a divorce.
"I didn't want to move here, I wanted to stay married. So I bought it and it just became sad. It was a sad place."

Wynne explained that while fans thought he was successful due to his work on the GoCompare adverts and Radio Wales, behind the scenes he was struggling to get by in a "bedroom with no windows, with no glass in them".
He added: "It was boarded up because all of the windows had gone. I came to see the house and it was the size I wanted and it’s what I could afford.

"I said to the estate agent, 'This is not for me this house, this house is definitely not for me'.
"The house was an absolute tip, the garden was beautiful, I don't know what the guy was doing here before. It was just terrible."
Fortunately, in the years since Wynne has not only transformed his house but his fortunes too, overcoming his demons and finding love with a new partner.
Here, we look back at his rocky life before Strictly.
When Wynne proposed to Tanwen at the Cardiff Central Station, he thought he had found the love of his life.
The pair went on to get married in 1999 and share two children together - daughter Ismay, and son, Taliesin.
They first met at the British Youth Orchestra course, where Wynne was starring in a production of Robin Crusoe.
She made the first move by sticking a note in his pigeonhole at college, asking him to go out for a drink.
While Wynne excelled in his role as Gio Compario in the Go Compare adverts, Tanwen preferred a quieter life away from the spotlight.
In 2012, he told The Mirror: "Tanwen is very grounded. My life has changed a lot and there's the whole – I almost don't want to say it as it sounds arrogant – but the whole fame and celebrity aspect to it. Tan is not like that at all."

But 16 years after they tied the knot, things went awry and the couple decided to go their separate ways.
Speaking about what the divorce did to him, Wynne said: "It was almost like grief, but you can't grieve for somebody that's still there.
"So it really affected my mental health, my confidence and my ego - it totally changed me as a person."
He added: "It made me very aware of being alone. And even though I was only 46 I had this irrational fear of dying on my own.
"I had very dark thoughts and very dark days where I would contemplate all sorts of terrible things."
Wynne's misery got so bad that on one Easter Sunday, he took drastic measures that could have ended tragically.
"I realised that I wanted my life to be over and I did some stupid things," he said.
"Then I went to seek some help with a proper psychiatrist and got on some medication, which for me was a good way of me helping me to help myself."

In a separate interview, he said: "The strapline of my show is, 'cheering Wales up by one o'clock,' but I was going through the worst depression, clinical depression'.
"I would think about [suicide], I would try and action it... I couldn't see a way out; I couldn't see a way of ever being happy again."
Additionally, Wynne was subjected to constant abuse from viewers who found his Go Compare adverts annoying.
There was even a hate-fun club set up on Facebook with more than 2million followers, where people would spew abuse at him.
Explaining the severity of it, he said: "It was the first major ad in the age of social network. People could interact with you immediately. And they'd say 'I hope your mother dies of cancer.'"

Tackling his personal troubles head-on, Wynne thought it was time for a change.
He bought an exercise bike and started running. After a while, he noticed a drastic change in his mental health and ended up losing seven stone.
He said: "Talking is important, but the most important thing for me is just running.
"So if I'm at home and feeling a bit down I do 20 minutes on the treadmill and it's the best way to make myself feel brighter. It's like singing, which also releases endorphins in the body."
The results showed for themselves, as he went on to win Celebrity MasterChef in 2023 and even find love again with events manager Liz Brookes, 50.
Talking about their relationship, a source told The Sun: "Wynne and Liz met at an event and are taking things slow, but he's excited about where the relationship might go.
"He is in a much better place now than when his marriage ended. It's like night and day — and he is so happy.'"
Wynne Evans' Strictly scandals
‘Grope’
Wynne encountered a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya was filmed removing his hand from her waist.
Fans insisted she looked uncomfortable as she moved it away – but Katya later insisted there was no problem.
In joke
They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.
The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent "inside joke".
Crude joke
Wynne came under fire for allegedly telling a "crude" joke to one of the show's make-up artists.
Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin "looked like a vagina".
A source said: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”
Vile comment
Wynne was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term "spit roast".
His remark came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, which pro Janette, 41, is hosting.
He reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when Evans allegedly made the joke.
Wynne has apologised saying: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise."
Liz, who he shares a love of fitness with, even went to watch him perform on Strictly and shared a picture saying she was "so proud of this one tonight".
Speaking on a podcast, he gushed: "I go out running with my girlfriend and stuff and I feel much better for it."
Wynne also revealed that Liz helps him keep up his exercise regime.
Last Christmas, he revealed they were spending some time together. He posted a picture of his dog and wrote: "Now I’m back home my girl Ginny is home. Just waiting for @liz_brookes and we can watch a Christmas film."

Wynne has also opened up about his friendship with Welsh actress and presenter Joanna Page.
The pair have teamed up for a new travelling show, Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea set to premiere on BBC One tonight.
Speaking about their bond in a BBC chat, Wynne said: "We just don’t wind each other up so it’s really, really good fun.
"We never have a cross word to say, but we just take the mickey out of each other from morning until night and I think laughter is the secret of the friendship.
"Really, we laugh all the time - nobody makes me laugh like Jo does."

Joanna added: "It’s literally like we are teenagers having a laugh, going around town, having a drink and just being back in Wales together.
"It’s a good old-fashioned friendship. He’s so funny, we just make each other laugh. We’re completely and utterly honest with each other, there is nothing that I wouldn’t say or haven’t said to him."
