How to hijack Armored Vans in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2
Moving vans are no match for your thirst for loot. Here’s how to crack those Armored Vans’ vaults open to get a bunch of loot.
If you want top-tier loot in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, hijacking an Armored Transport is the way to go. But while the rewards are worth it, it’s not as easy as looting a Supply Drop.
This Fortnite season is all about sacking chests, vaults, and other players’ loot – you’re an outlaw after all. That said, initiate outlaws may have issues with hijacking the armored vans that roam the map with Lonewolf’s goods.
In this guide, I’ll show you how to open Armored Transport vaults in Chapter 6 Season 2.
How to open Armored Transport vaults
To hijack Armored Transport in Fortnite, look for the white vehicle icons on the map after the third wave, throw one Thermite on the back door, and deal with the guards until the loot drops.
Let’s break down each step:
Step 1: Wait until the third wave
Armored Transports don’t spawn right away. Wait for the second storm circle to close, which is when three of them will appear on the map.
Step 2: Locate and approach the Armored Transport
Check your map or HUD to locate the closest transport. Common spawn points include Shining Span and Magic Mosses.
Step 3: Get gear & Thermite
Each Armored Transport is guarded by at least two enemies inside the vehicle and one more in a nearby escort vehicle. If you rush in unprepared, you’ll be eliminated before you get close.
To crack open the transport, you must have Thermite. You can find it in chests, as floor loot, or purchase it at Black Markets for 50 bars.
Step 4: Throw Thermite at Armored Transport
Head to the back of the transport. Place the Thermite to begin the hijacking process. You’ll see a progress bar appear – this is your countdown to victory.

While waiting for the Thermite to work, you’ll need to fend off four waves of enemy guards. Keep cover, stay mobile, and eliminate them fast.
Armored Transport vault rewards
Once the progress bar fills, the back of the transport will open, revealing high-tier loot. Expect to find mythic and epic weapons, healing items, gold bars, and a Chug Jug.

If you see an Armored Transport icon turn red, it means someone else is already hijacking it. You can still intercept that player and take them down, but you must be careful.
